Some girls make a grand entrance. Velvet's more of a shy little “hi… can I sit by you?” kind of girl.

Velvet, ID #120045, is approximately 2 years old, weighs 32 pounds, and arrived as a stray from the Lawrenceville area on October 2. She's a very sweet, timid girl who may greet you with the tiniest tail wag at first. But give her a little time and a gentle approach, and she starts to warm up, leaning in for comfort and affection.

This sensitive sweetheart will do best in a quiet home without children, with a patient person who will let her build confidence at her own pace. She doesn't need you to ask her to be brave all at once. She just needs someone willing to show her, day by day, that she's safe and loved. Could you be the soft place Velvet has been waiting for? Up next for a update: Celia is settling in, and her personality is coming out! ❤️

Remember Celia? This sweet girl has traded the shelter for a foster home, and we're happy to report she's doing WONDERFULLY! 🎉

Celia, ID #118347, is 4 years old, weighs 49 pounds, and arrived from the Duluth area on July 17. When we first met her, she was friendly, curious, and just a little timid as she took in the world around her.

Now that she's getting comfortable in a home, her foster family is seeing more of the loving, adventurous girl hiding beneath that initial shyness. She's friendly with everyone in the house, and she's working on her introductions to the resident cats. We'll call that a work in progress!

Celia is heartworm positive and receiving treatment, so her current assignment is learning to take it easy while she recovers. Puzzle toys and scheduled crate naps are helping her keep her mind busy without turning recovery into an Olympic sport. Apparently, relaxing is a skill we're still practicing!

The good news? Celia is showing everyone what a wonderful companion she can be. And she's still looking for her forever home!

“You got a friend in me…” And Lotso, ID #120087, is hoping his next friend will be his FOREVER family!

This approximately 8-year-old, 61-pound teddy bear arrived as a stray from the Lilburn area on October 5. He's got the name of a Toy Story character, and now he just needs his own happily-ever-after! During his photoshoot, Lotso showed us he knows how to sit and is more than happy to work for treats. Who says you can't win a bear's heart with snacks?

Lotso is currently underweight and following a feeding schedule with our veterinary team to help him get back on track. Our vet staff would be happy to discuss his health and care needs with potential adopters. Could you be the one to show Lotso that life can be sweet again? Good morning Gwinnett! Here's a smile to start your day: Natasha is living her best foster life!

Just look at this girl enjoying her play yard time at PetSuites Lawrenceville! (Shout out to community partners making a difference!) Natasha is currently staying there as a temporary foster, and we think she’s making a pretty strong case for why she deserves a permanent address of her own.

Natasha, ID #117175, is approximately 3 years old, weighs 58 pounds, and arrived on May 28 after being found wandering alone in the Hoschton area.

She may be a little timid at first, but give her a moment and those happy wiggles kick in! This sweet girl is affectionate, playful, clever, and easygoing. She knows basic commands and tricks, is manageable on a leash, and recently enjoyed a park visit, a hike around the lake, and hanging out with other dogs. She did great with the canine crew and happily soaked up attention from her human friends, too.

Apparently, her idea of a good day includes outdoor adventures, new friends, frozen treats, some cuddles and a little playtime. Honestly, Natasha, SAME. 😂

Spence ID #119268 understood the assignment: Meet people. Collect pets. Accept treats. Smile for everyone. Repeat. ❤️

We took this handsome boy on a Bark Break last week, and he managed to make every person feel like his new favorite human!

Spence soaked up all the attention, happily greeted everyone, flashed those sweet smiles, and made it very clear that nobody should be stingy with the pets or treats. He even climbed into a couple of laps for some bonus cuddle time. At 65 pounds, he may be a little ambitious about his lap-dog career, but we appreciate a boy with goals. 😂

Spence is about 2 years old and arrived as a stray from the Lawrenceville area on August 26. He was a little shy when we first met him, but out enjoying the company of people, this affectionate, treat-motivated sweetheart really came out of his shell!

He’s great on a leash, loves making friends, and has apparently never met a stranger. His résumé includes professional treat acceptance, advanced pet appreciation, sloppy kisses, cuddling and an award-winning smile.

His next goal? Finding a family who will make him a regular part of their everyday life, not just a guest star on Bark Break! ⭐️

Spence has done great in playgroups with other pups, but a meet and greet is still required because every pup has a unique personality and we want a good match. The cats, meanwhile, continue to decline our research invitations.

Warm, comforting, and just the right amount of sweet… meet Cornbread, ID #119949.

At approximately 6 years old and 70 pounds, Cornbread arrived as a stray from the Lawrenceville area on September 29. During his photoshoot, this handsome boy showed us his laid-back side. He's a total sweetheart and an absolute baby at heart, the kind of guy who makes you want to slow down, settle in, and enjoy the simple things.

Cornbread does have some health concerns, including heartworm, and our veterinary team will be happy to discuss his needs with interested adopters. He can begin heartworm treatment with an adoption or foster commitment, helping ensure he has a soft, quiet place to rest and recover. We'll walk potential adopters and fosters through what that process looks like. He just needs someone willing to give him a little extra care and a whole lot of love. Could you be his safe place?

He's 2 years old, weighs 60 pounds, and arrived from the Lawrenceville area on September 29. We held out hope for a reunion with his owner, but after a long 10 days, this handsome boy is ready to start his next adventure!

And what an adventure he'll be! Jax is super friendly, playful, treat-motivated, and knows how to sit. But his signature move? The HAPPY DANCE. Add in those adorable wiggles and that big smile, and you've got one seriously lovable guy.

He's ready to trade shelter life for family life, and we'd love to see that smile become a permanent fixture in someone's home. Come meet Jax and see if he's the reason your camera roll is about to be 90% dog pictures!

Who wants a Cookie? Because this sweet girl is ready to be someone's favorite treat!

Cookie, ID #120094, is approximately 10 years old and weighs 43 pounds. She arrived on October 5 after being found wandering all by herself in a Grayson-area neighborhood. We were hopeful that her family would come looking for her, but she's still waiting for someone to take her home.

During her photoshoot, Cookie was absolutely adorable... curious, happy, and taking in everything around her. She's proof that a little gray around the muzzle doesn't mean you're past your prime for new adventures and new love!

Tessa has places to go, things to investigate, and absolutely no time to waste. She's 3 years old, 67 pounds, and arrived on July 31 after being found hanging out by herself in the Dacula area.

During her photo/video shoot, she was friendly, curious, and BUSY. Basically, she's got a lot of important sniffing, exploring, and supervising to do. If you're looking for a dog who will keep you on your toes and make sure there is never a dull moment, Tessa would like to submit her application.
