🐾 CHOPPER’S CONSTRUCTION UPDATE: PHASE 2! 🦺🔨

Chopper here, reporting live from Phase 2 of construction! 🐶

First order of business… I’ve inspected the rooms, and I have some serious concerns. THERE ARE NO TREATS IN THESE ROOMS! 🚨 We need to address this immediately. Who’s in charge around here?!

Now, everyone put on your hard hats, get those paws moving, and let’s get to work! It smells like construction in here, so put your nose to the ground and let’s get this project finished! 🐾👷

As always, THANK YOU for sticking with us through all the updates and changes to our building. We appreciate your patience while we work behind the scenes to make things even better!

A special shout-out to BHS Construction for all the amazing work they’re doing and for putting up with our shenanigans along the way! 😂 And a big thank-you to Echelon Arch + Design for helping us make our space both functional and pretty for everyone who walks through our doors. 🏗️✨

We can’t wait to show you what’s coming together! Stay tuned for more updates from your favorite four-legged construction supervisor. Chopper Weyer: Poogle in KC 🐶🦺

🐾🌎 WORLD RABIES DAY 🌎🐾

Let’s talk about a disease we hope your pets NEVER have to encounter: rabies.

7 bats have tested positive for rabies in Kansas City this year. This is the highest number of rabies positive bats the city has seen in more than 10 years. 🦇

Here’s a little-known fact that might surprise you…

🚨 Opossums are NOT the big rabies risk around here!

We hear it all the time: “Watch out for possums — they carry rabies!” But opossums have naturally low body temperatures. The rabies virus cannot survive in their bodies. In Kansas, skunks and bats are much more important rabies carriers. 🦨🦇

That doesn’t mean you should approach an opossum (or any wild animal!) just that the poor little possum gets a bit of an unfair reputation. 😉

A few important reminders:

🐕 Keep your pets’ rabies vaccinations up to date.
🐈 Never handle wildlife, even if it appears friendly or injured.
🦇 Never pick up a bat! Dead or alive.
🚨 If your pet has contact with a bat or other wildlife, contact your veterinarian right away.

Rabies is a serious and nearly always fatal disease once symptoms begin, but it is preventable with proper vaccination and timely treatment after an exposure.

So today, for World Rabies Day, give your pets a little extra love and let the wildlife stay wild! 🐾

🌧️🐾 POV: You’re a Chihuahua and suddenly the weather has the audacity to be WET. 😂

Raincoat? ✔️
Wet paws? Absolutely not. 🙅‍♀️🐾
Dramatic shaking? Obviously. 💦💦💦
Strutting like you own the hallway? Always. 😎

Grab your rain jacket, avoid the puddles, and SHAKE SHAKE SHAKE!
