The kennel closed 2025 with Double Trouble!

The kennel opened 2026 with a trifecta!
Daisy the dobie, Daisy the yellow lab, and Daisy the golden.

In honor of National Border Collie Day -

This is Skye & Phyx.

When they play, Skye will squat down and wait for Phyx to return with a toy, then she’ll charge him and steal it. She brings the toy to me and I throw it. Phyx will grab the toy and Skye will charge him, over and over. 😝

If you have a BC, I’m sure you know how serious they get about things.

Today is the day to give a dollar to anyone as a kind gesture. Jess & the boys are giving a few dollars today.

You can leave a dollar with a kind note for someone to find. Add a dollar to a server’s tip. Or donate to a local charity…

Speaking of donating to local charity, the kennel is collecting $$$ for the yearly Thanksgiving Dinners. The deadline for donations is next Sat, 15 Nov.

If you would like to donate a dollar or two, maybe more if you can, it all adds up, please send it or drop it off at the kennel.

National Make A Dog’s Day -

When Ozzy came in, he and his housemate brought a few plushies. This blue plushy had a gash that left it’s head hanging on by a thread.

Laney was ready to step in and help! She took Home Economics in school so she knows how to sew with a needle & thread.

While Axel held the flashlight, Ozzy was so happy to watch his plushy get repaired in major surgery.

Do you believe dogs can exhibit signs of toy addiction?

Some humans can show signs of a serious addiction, we can become addicted to things for various reasons. What about a dog?

Scientific studies say there may be the possibility for dogs to exhibit signs of an addiction to their toy(s).

Mabel, like a lot of boarders, bring favorite plushies or toys when they stay here. Can’t say I’ve noticed any addictions to a toy, but I think some dogs just show maternal instincts, like to take a plushie out for a walk, shake it up for slight dominance, or just have a stuffed item to squeak or hold in their mouth.

Mabel sometimes will take her flamingo outside during turnout, but she doesn’t show signs of an addiction.
