Job Posting:
We are currently hiring for Kennel Assistant. We are seeking a dependable, compassionate Kennel Assistant. Our ideal candidate enjoys working with animals, able to follow instructions, detail oriented and self motivated. We are a fast paced setting and and you must be able to thrive and self start. Full-time position:
This includes holidays and weekend hours. Schedules will be alternating with other employees.
Starting pay: $12.00/hr with raise after 90-days based off performance.
Duties:
ā¢ Feed animals according to our established schedules and dietary instructions.
ā¢ Provide fresh water
ā¢ Clean and disinfectant kennels according to instructions and standards.
ā¢ Walk dogs and provide supervised exercise, play and enrichments.
ā¢ Observe animals for change in behavior, appetite, appearance, or health.
ā¢ Assist with bathing, nail trims, and other basic grooming task.
ā¢ Wash bedding, towels, dishes, toys and kennel equipment.
ā¢Restock food, cleaning products, and animal care supplies.
ā¢ Assist staff with pick-ups and drop-offs.
Qualifications:
ā¢ High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
ā¢ Previous experience is helpful but not required.
ā¢ Dependable, punctual, organized with attention to detail.
ā¢ Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
ā¢ Must be comfortable around strong odors, chemicals, and noise.
ā¢Willing to work weekends, holidays as scheduled.
Physical Requirements:
ā¢Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
ā¢Ability to bend, kneel, reach and perform repetitive cleaning task.
ā¢ Ability to lift and carry 40-50 lbs without restriction.
ā¢Ability to handle frightened animals in stressful environments safely.
