I want to give a special shout out to my basic dog grooming class!!
I took this course at Richmond Community College 10 years ago!! I got my certificate in 2016… Did I ever think that 10 years later id be in the exact same room teaching it?! NO. NEVER..
When I was asked to teach the class I was extremely nervous.. I also felt like I didn’t deserve to teach it..
Matter of fact my first day I don’t think I even breathed from being so nervous.. I was loaded up on caffeine and just talked their heads off for 3 hours straight lol. I was shocked that they returned to class 🤣🤣
Not only did they return but they stuck with me throughout some tough times.. Some students actually drove over an hour to make it to class…
I knew that I wanted to do something special for them.. We wouldn’t have a ceremony since we’re a continued education course.. However I wanted to be extraaaaa lol.. We made our own ceremony!! I had my women’s conference at my church Friday night… I just felt led to pray over each certificate… I made sure my class knew what I was doing. I used the anointing oil that I received from my church the night prior.. Gave them all their certificates of completion and cried.. I mean I’m crying while typing this… I’m truly gonna miss them. 😭 My class can successfully groom their own dogs!! 🎉🎉🎉 They also have the resources, knowledge, and confidence to work with a professional groomer. Or step out on their own and continue their dog grooming education to open up their own business! They gave me reviews and I’ll never get rid of them… They were so kind.. The only one complaint was that I really needed to ease up on the caffeine 🤣🤣🤣🤣

I usually get to class early to setup.. On the last day all of my students beat me to class. They had setup an entire breakfast and blessed me with the sweetest gifts.. 🥹😭 I’m still shook…
I wanted to make the last day special for them but that made it special for me!! 💖

We finished up on August 15th.. this was the day that my shop first opened… Ain’t it kinda crazy how God works?! It was all meant to be.. I can’t believe that I ever thought that I shouldn’t teach this course.. I am proof that what God has in store for you… can’t no one take it from you!! Dog grooming can take you so far as long as you have a passion for it. You can successfully make a career as a dog groomer!! I can now say that with confidence!! We are all in this together… We need more groomers so let’s keep building each other up!!
