What an incredible two days! The LOZ Treasure Trove Trail brought so much joy to our little corner of the Lake Area, and we are still smiling.

To the organizers who made this event happen, to every nonprofit thrift shop that participated, and to every single person who came out and explored, THANK YOU! You made this something truly special.

One of the highlights for us was welcoming so many first-time visitors, including neighbors who live just down the road and had never stepped through our doors before. Getting to share our story - what Caring Hearts does for pets and the people who love them right here in this community - that alone made the whole event a win.

But what struck us most was the spirit of the weekend. So many different organizations, all doing good in their own way, all coming together under one collective, joyful umbrella. In a world that can feel pretty divided right now, there was something quietly powerful about that. We were all just in this together.

The LOZ Treasure Trove Trail is THIS weekend, June 5th & 6th!🎉

TWELVE nonprofit thrift stores across the Lake Area are participating, and we'd love for you to make the rounds. Each stop is a chance to discover what your neighbors are doing to serve this community, and there is a LOT of good happening out here.

Here's the fun part: pick up a LOZ Treasure Trove Trail map at the first store you visit. You'll see all twelve locations marked with a key to help you find each one. Visit every store, collect a stamp from all twelve stores, and leave your completed map with the last store you visit. You'll be entered to win the grand prize which includes a collection of treasures from each participating thrift store!

Caring Hearts is stop #11 on the map. Come see us, say hello, and keep going until you've made the rounds! You never know what treasures await!

This is a great way to spend the weekend doing something that feels good. We hope to see you on the trail!💙

Meet Monkey.🐾

This stunning girl walked into the vet under her own power a little over 24 hours ago, which is remarkable, considering what was happening inside her body.

Monkey had pyometra, a severe and life-threatening uterine infection. When her uterus was removed, it weighed 17 pounds. To put this in perspective, in a healthy dog her size, it should weigh just a few ounces.

Monkey made it through surgery thanks to the skill and dedication of Dr. Katie and her amazing veterinary team who worked nothing short of a miracle to save her life.

This was a community effort. Caring Hearts, Ozarks Kat & K9 Thrift Store and Blue Moon came together to make sure Monkey had a fighting chance. That's what rescue community looks like.

The best prevention for pyometra is simple: SPAY YOUR DOG OR CAT. This condition is 100% preventable, and it is 100% fatal without emergency surgery. Many animals never make it to the vet in time.

Monkey did, and that's exactly why your support matters. Every donation to your local rescue organizations, veterinary teams, and animal welfare groups makes moments like this possible. Whether you donate to Caring Hearts, another local rescue, or your community veterinarian directly, it all adds up to lives saved. Monkey is proof of that. 🩷

🐾Meet Killer.

Don't let the name fool you. This little Chihuahua is less "apex predator" and more "professional lap occupant" and we LOVE that for him.❤️

Killer was neutered last month, and yes, we're a little late with the official welcome, but a guy with a name like his probably keeps his own schedule anyway.

So proud of this tiny legend. Welcome to the club!💙

Meet Shelby💕

A few days ago, Shelby was in a fight for her life. She had developed severe pyometra and was found lying in a pool of blood. That's when her owner reached out to MEOW Mission Inc for help. Every second counted.

When Meow Mission contacted Caring Hearts to join forces to save Shelby, we were so glad to be able to help. Local rescues leaning on each other in moments of crisis - that's something we're proud to be part of.

And we're happy to report that Shelby made it.🐾

Her owner called to leave a message afterward - voice full of tears, full of gratitude - saying that Shelby is her life, and that losing her would have been absolutely devastating. That call is exactly why we do this.

Thank you to the incredible team at MEOW Mission Inc for reaching out - because some situations are bigger than any one organization, and we're so glad we could help shoulder this one together. Thank you to the veterinary team that acted quickly to save this girl's life. And thank you ALWAYS to this community of generous, big-hearted people who make all of it possible.

🐾✨Better Late than never!✨🐾

We owe two very handsome boys a long-overdue welcome to the Fixed & Fabulous Club! 🎉

Meet Black Jack and Peanut - neutered since February and absolutely thriving! These distinguished gentlemen have officially been fixed and fabulous for THREE WHOLE MONTHS, and we are SO here for it!

A huge shoutout to their owners for making the responsible choice for their boys, and for the lady cats of the Lake Area, who can now roam a little more peacefully. 😉The community thanks you!

🐾A milestone worth celebrating!🐾

We are absolutely blown away. In May alone (and there are still 4 days left), Caring Hearts has provided or pledged to provide spay/neuter assistance and emergency veterinary care for 215 animals. To put that in perspective: our highest single-month total last year was 114.

This kind of impact doesn't happen by accident. It reflects the very real and growing need in our community. As the cost of living rises - gas, groceries, everyday essentials - pet care becomes harder and harder to afford, and the need for spay/neuter assistance and emergency veterinary care is more desperate than ever. As long as we have funds, we will continue pouring them back into this community.

None of this is possible without YOU - our donors, supporters, volunteers, thrift store shoppers, and everyone who drops a little something in our donation cans around town. Every single contribution adds up.

Stay tuned - a full impact update is coming soon. But for now, we just wanted to share this with you, because the need in this community is real and it is growing. For Caring Hearts and local rescues across the area, your support means everything - now more than ever.❤️🐾
