Today, Ellie had a total of 4 grand mal seizures. She was tired. She was broken. She was exhausted. And after all the testing, medications, and every effort to save her, nothing was working.
We still donāt know why Ellie suddenly began having seizures. It could have been a brain tumor or something else entirely. What we did know was that Ellie was suffering.
As she continued to seize, her exhausted eyes seemed to scream, āIām tired.ā And as much as it broke our hearts, we made the decision to let our sweet girl go.
She will never have to be scared again.
She will never have to feel fearful again.
She will never have another seizure.
She will finally be at peace. šš
Everyone loved Ellie, even though she was terrified of people. But if you gave her time, she would eventually warm upāand once she did, she became your BEST friend. She was truly a one-of-a-kind baby.
Now, we desperately want to bring Ellie home one last time and have her ashes returned to us. Her cremation will be around $400, and her total medical bill for the life-saving measures and hospital care is expected to be well over $900.
We are drowning financially, and now we are grieving emotionally. š
Please, if you can, help us bring our girl home. Any donation, no matter how small, means more than you know.
And please pray for our staff and board. Saying goodbye to Ellie was one of the hardest things we have had to do, and the grief doesnāt end just because we made the right decision for her.
Thank you for helping us give Ellie the best life we possibly could while she was here. Thank you for loving her, supporting her, and being part of her journey.
We couldnāt do this without you.
Run free, sweet Ellie. You donāt have to be afraid anymore. šš¾š
