Founded in 1981, the ARL is one of very few no-kill facilities in Mississippi. This means there is no time limit on adoptions of each animal. If they are not adopted, they live out their lives at the shelter.

Bashful’s wait is finally over! 💛

After spending years at the shelter, he was the last of his siblings still waiting for a home. We always believed his person would come. and we’re so grateful that day finally arrived!

Katie (formerly Mary), is LOVING adopted life with her new family! 🤩

From once being dumped and abused — to now knowing true love! Her story is one that many of our dogs here faced, but we’re so glad it changed! This is why we do what we can, for stories like these! Thank you for choosing to adopt Katie, and we wish y’all nothing but the best! She needed a family that would give her the attention and space to play, and they did just that for Katie girl. It makes our day when there is another successful adoption 💕🐶
