🎉 Meet Ravi & Rosa: Two Loving ❤ Hearts Still Hoping for Their Furever Home!

Ravi and Rosa have known love before. They were once part of a family, cherished and cared for. But when their owner could no longer look after them after a hospital stay, these two AFA alumni returned to the shelter in October 2025 — confused, gentle, and still full of hope.

Months have passed since then. Visitors come and go. And somehow, Ravi and Rosa are still waiting. But what makes them extraordinary is that they haven’t given up. They don’t understand why they’ve been overlooked. They only know how to love — and they’re saving all that love for the family who chooses them. Ravi and Rosa would be thrilled to stay together, but they’re also ready to shine in separate homes if that’s where their future leads. What they want most is simple: a warm place to rest, gentle hands to reassure them, and a family who won’t let them be forgotten again.

If you’ve been thinking about adopting… if you’ve been waiting for a sign… maybe this, is it. Ravi and Rosa are ready for their next chapter. They just need someone to help them turn the page. Come meet them. Let them show you how much love two dogs can hold in their hearts. Their story isn’t finished — and you might be the one who helps them find their happy ending! 🥰

❤️ RAVI — 3.5-year-old male Husky Mix
⭐ Athletic, curious, loyal, playful
⭐ Loves belly rubs, back scratches, and treats.
⭐ A big-hearted adventurer who dreams of long walks, open space, and a family who sees how special he is.

🩷 ROSA — 5.5-year-old female Hound Mix
⭐ Gentle, sweet, affectionate, a little shy
⭐ Loves people, going on walks, playtime and treats.
⭐ A tender, loving soul who blossoms with kindness and would be the perfect companion for someone who wants a calm, loyal friend.

Please share so Ravi and Rosa can find a furever home and family!

⭐ TAIL WAGGIN’ THURSDAY – MEET CHESTER!

🐶 Age/Breed: 2.5-year-old (estimated) male Bichon Frise mix.
🐶 Build/Color: Small, with a soft white cream curly coat.
🐶 Personality: Gentle, sweet, and learning to trust
🐶 Backstory: Rescued from a puppy mill and transferred to Action For Animals
🚩 Special Requirement: A home with a fenced-in yard

Chester arrived at Action For Animals in September 2025 after being rescued from a puppy mill. He’s still learning what it means to feel safe, so new situations can make him a little unsure — but with patience and kindness, his personality begins to shine. Once he warms up, Chester is an absolute delight. He has the goofiest smile and loves to flash his adorable toothy grin when he recognizes a friendly face. It’s impossible not to smile back. 😊

Chester is just beginning to understand the world outside the kennel. He can walk on a leash, but sudden noises or unfamiliar sights sometimes make him pause and hunker down. With gentle encouragement, he’ll gain confidence and learn that walks can be fun and full of adventure.

This sweet boy is ready for a forever home that can offer patience, love, and a quiet space to grow. If you’re looking for a companion to nurture and celebrate every small victory with, Chester may be your perfect match. Come by and see if you can earn one of his famous smiles — he can’t wait to meet you! 🥰

🎉 PAW-SOME DOG OF THE WEEK – Meet Dubble Bubble!

🐶 Age/Breed: 3-year-old male Chihuahua and Boston Terrier mix
🐶 Build/Color: Small build with a short black, white and cream coat.
🐶 Good With: Other dogs
🐶 Backstory: Rescued from a hoarding situation

Dubble Bubble was rescued from a hoarding situation and transferred to Action For Animals in August 2025. Because of his past, he’s understandably shy when meeting new people. He needs time, patience, and a calm environment to feel safe. But once he trusts you? He becomes the sweetest little shadow — curling up in your lap, soaking in belly rubs, and giving gentle kisses. He loves staying close to his person and thrives on affection.

Dubble Bubble needs a patient adopter who understands that healing takes time. Someone who can show him kindness, consistency, and the reassurance that he is finally safe and loved. If you’ve got a soft spot for shy pups and a heart big enough to help him blossom, Dubble Bubble may be the one you’ve been waiting for! He is ready to start his next chapter — could it be with you? 🥰

Action For Animals, Inc. Mission Statement

AFA was founded in 1983 to shelter and provide care for abused, abandoned and stray dogs and cats of Westmoreland County. We are a 501c3 non-profit, non-government funded, no-kill shelter that keeps animals free from the threat of unwarranted euthanasia. We adopt animals into responsible homes and vigorously promote the spay and neuter of all pets to eliminate the cruelty of animal overpopulation.
