A huge thank you to Lakeview Animal Clinic’s Dr. Katie for her consult and Dr. Lizzie for doing Repair surgery on Sophie’s eye removal… into the wonderful receptionist and veterinary technicians that helped me and Sophie… yesterday Sophie managed to destroy her E collar and damage some sutures, and this morning, she managed to open the flap of skin tissue to close the eye socket.
Upon examination, Dr. Lizzie and Dr. Katie both felt that the area had become infected and needed to be debrided old sutures, removed dead skin removed, and then re-sutured. You might remember Sophie had the horrific eye ulceration, and after weeks and weeks of treatment we decided to have the eye removed.
She seems to be doing good, but please keep her in your prayers for a complete and quick healing. 🙏🙏💖🐾🐾💖🙏🙏
Warning the following photos are graphic and our prior to her Repair surgery today….
If you’d like to make a donation to help offset some of the Vet veterinary expenses of the surgeries, please send a check directly to:

A Huge Thank You to whoever donated these wonderful items for the rescues at Guardian Angels Pug Rescue, PA #16989!!! Greatly appreciate your generosity and support!

If you’d like to make a donation, please send directly to:

Thank you!
Items that are greatly needed on a regular basis:

1. Blue Buffalo dry dog food
2. Hills Science Diet Canned Stew Chicken and Turkey
3. Bleach
4. Monetary donations - Guardian Angels Pug Rescue has accumulated over $15,000 in financial debt due to all the recent veterinary care, surgeries, cremations, etc. so every bit helps! If every follower of this page would donate at least $10 to $20, not only could the rescue be out of debt, but it would be quite possible to build a new rescue shelter!

It is natural to always wonder…. I’ve had to make this difficult decision so many times in my 39 years of doing rescue… when I’ve had to make that decision, your brain tells you you’re doing the right thing but your heart will always wonder.

this is one of the most painful questions so many grieving pet parents ask themselves after loss.

not because they made the wrong decision…
but because they had to make an impossible one.

we are suddenly placed in a position where we have to “play god.” where we have to choose between holding on and letting go. between more time and more suffering.

that is deeply traumatic for so many people.
and after trauma, our brains often try to make sense of the pain by rewriting the ending as our fault.

“maybe i waited too long.”
“maybe i did it too soon.”
“maybe i missed something.”
“maybe i failed them.”

because somehow it feels easier to blame ourselves than to accept how powerless and heartbreaking the situation truly was.

but making a loving decision through unbearable pain does not mean you betrayed them.

it means you loved them deeply enough to carry the heartbreak yourself. 🤍

Don’t forget to mark your calendars! And I posted earlier about looking for any suggestion, suggestions, input, recommendations on how to to improve this wonderful event. If you have any ideas, please feel free to mention them in the comments. But remember no drama and always be Polite.
It has been suggested to start charging a fee to enter the contests… would you pay to enter your dog into the contest? If so, how much would you be willing to pay for each contest you enter? Or do you think a set contest fee for the day would be better?
Yes, we are looking for donations of baskets for the basket raffle, also looking for donations for the bake sale so if you’d love to bake, please bake some extra to donate.
And again, suggestions are welcome

Pet stores…. They will tell you what they know you need to hear to purchase a puppy from them. Though supposedly “local” puppies, are from horrific puppy mills!!! you’re paying $2000 $3000 and more for a puppy while the puppies, mom and dad live in horrific conditions and by buying a puppy from a pet store, you are encouraging more excessive breeding and lack of vet care for the poor parents of that puppy. Please don’t shop! Adopt there are thousands of wonderful animals in rescues and shelters across the USA and there are thousands of animals that are euthanized daily … over breeding has to stop, puppy mills need to be shut down!! and people need to stop supporting them!

Today didn’t turn out as expected, sweet Sophie went in to have her injured eye checked and possibly debrided… by upon examination, the Veterinarian and I discussed what would be best for her…. Sadly, the conclusion was to have the eye surgically removed… after weeks and weeks of trying to save the eye and different medication’s. The eye was not getting any better and at this point it was the best option.
Healing prayers for sweet Sophie would be greatly appreciated… thank you!🙏🙏💖🐾🐾💖🙏🙏

Meet newest Rescues… Nellie and Edith!!
Both of these beautiful girls were used as breeders! They both came to me with overgrown nails, and of course, needing a bath and dental, and most importantly they both need to be spayed.
Nellie I was told is 10 years old and I had her recently spayed and had a dental done and is recovering at this time, but will soon be up for adoption. I am still learning her personality, but she seems to be very very sweet and she gets along well with the other rescues here. She’s a little hand shy at first, but once you get to pet her, she loves to cuddle.!
Edith I was told is 14 years old and is currently on hold, she will be spayed soon and have a dental done and then will be up for adoption. Edith is also a very sweet girl, she loves to be held, but not tightly. She just likes to know that she’s loved and she’s being held securely. She also loves to follow me around. Once she is spayed and healed from her surgery, she will be up for adoption.
Both of these little rescues are used to being around other pugs and other dogs and would love a home either together or a home with other fursiblings
If interested in possibly adopting either Nellie or Edith, or one of our other wonderful rescues, please email:
[email protected]
For more information on the adoption process and an application. And please be patient.
Also, please know that I do everything by appointment only. Thank you.

Another Real Sad day here… sweet, beautiful Daisy went to the Rainbow Bridge and got her Angel wings… 💔😭😭😭🐾🐾🪽🌈💖🙏
She had an appointment today to have the massive, aggressive carcinoma, removed from her breast, leg and abdomen area… unfortunately over the weekend her breathing became labored and she began to struggle… x-rays showed the tumors had metastasized inside her chest cavity. The x-rays couldn’t even see where her heart was, and I know she had a huge heart cause she was the sweetest little girl…. As I was holding her and talking to her and telling her not to be afraid, and asking her forgiveness letting her know to run to Harvey, then he would help her in heaven, and then I loved her so so much, she kept licking my face. It broke my heart. She was so mentally aware and in her final moment, she wanted to comfort me in my grief. She was a true age on earth and now she’s an Angel in Heaven ! And my heart is crushed…. RIP Sweet, Beautiful Daisy… your life mattered, I loved you so so much. I am sorry that I couldn’t save you from this aggressive carcinoma…. Please know sweet Daisy that you took a huge piece of my heart with you. 💔😭😭😭🐾🐾🪽🌈💖🙏

Thank you to the wonderful Veterinarian’s, Dr. Andy and Dr. Katie, and wonderful Vet tech, Britney and sweet Maddy Lakeview Animal Clinicakeview Animal Clinic for being so kind and compassionate with sweet Daisy and me today.
