Once the ado

First, I will not change the Original Pugfest in Pa to October( there are several good reasons why)…And please know that the welfare of all animals in attendance are the #1 priority. That’s why we try so desperately to get a Veterinarian in attendance and we’ve been very fortunate the past few years to have Dr. Christine Bunner Thomas in attendance. That’s also why there is water available at all times, we have a hose attached to a water spigot, we have several swimming pools throughout the picnic grounds, and we have a lot of water dishes placed throughout the picnic grounds. We also placed the basket raffle on the basketball court and opened up the second large pavilion for people and their Pugs and Pugwannabes to sit underneath to be able to stay a little more cold in the warm weather.
Sorry, I have no control over the weather and yes, we’ve had a few hot years, but we’ve also had some wonderfully cool years and we even had a couple rainy years.
The suggestions I’m looking for are how can we actually improve the day itself - the contests, the basket raffle, the bake sale, etc. what do we need more of ? what do we need less of, etc.. do we charge to enter each contest ? Would you be willing to pay more at the entrance per person and not pay for contest? Are there contest you’d rather us have? Are there contest you feel we don’t need? what can we do to make this day more enjoyable for you and your pugs and pugwannabes?
And are you willing to volunteer? If you can let me know ahead of time what hour four hours you would be available to help out that would be great. Every year I have the same wonderful, amazing volunteers helping me and occasionally a few new ones help out and I really appreciate everything they do, but it would be nice to be able to give them some more breaks throughout the day so please consider volunteering.

FYI,

It is currently PROHIBITED to import dogs (and cats) from Texas & New Mexico into PA!!!

Hopefully those pulling from them can try to pull locally meantime as Pennsylvania is DROWNING in homeless pets!!!! 💔

A huge thank you to Lakeview Animal Clinic’s Dr. Katie for her consult and Dr. Lizzie for doing Repair surgery on Sophie’s eye removal… into the wonderful receptionist and veterinary technicians that helped me and Sophie… yesterday Sophie managed to destroy her E collar and damage some sutures, and this morning, she managed to open the flap of skin tissue to close the eye socket.
Upon examination, Dr. Lizzie and Dr. Katie both felt that the area had become infected and needed to be debrided old sutures, removed dead skin removed, and then re-sutured. You might remember Sophie had the horrific eye ulceration, and after weeks and weeks of treatment we decided to have the eye removed.
She seems to be doing good, but please keep her in your prayers for a complete and quick healing. 🙏🙏💖🐾🐾💖🙏🙏
Warning the following photos are graphic and our prior to her Repair surgery today….

Thank you!
Items that are greatly needed on a regular basis:

1. Blue Buffalo dry dog food
2. Hills Science Diet Canned Stew Chicken and Turkey
3. Bleach
4. Monetary donations - Guardian Angels Pug Rescue has accumulated over $15,000 in financial debt due to all the recent veterinary care, surgeries, cremations, etc. so every bit helps! If every follower of this page would donate at least $10 to $20, not only could the rescue be out of debt, but it would be quite possible to build a new rescue shelter!
