Today we went on a bit of a field trip to Alexander, IA to pick up this sweet senior boy Clyde. Clyde was owned by the Rink family, and their daughter loved him very very much. Clyde had proven himself to be a bit too much for her, so she reached out to see if I wanted to take him on. I said sure! Clyde is a 20ish year old bay roan quarter horse. I think he might have a bit of draft in him by the looks of his legs. We’ll work with him over the next few months and who knows, he might make the cut to join the lesson program❤️ I wanted to give a HUGE thank you to Hayden for thinking of me first when she decided to rehome him. I’m sure we’ll see her around more this summer❤️

Horse Spotlight!

Magnify DWJ aka Jax is a 19 year old Arabian gelding by Justify and out of Magdolina DWJ. Jax is my absolute favorite horse in the entire world! Jax enjoys trail rides, and the occasional horse show. Over his life he’s accumulated 12 AHA points! Jax’s favorite snack is oatmeal cream pies, and he enjoys being dramatic out in the pasture prancing around tossing his head. Jax is my man and he knows it. He comes running for his grain daily and gets spoiled. If he wants to spend the night inside, he picks to stay inside after his grain rather than going back out. Jax has taught a few riding lessons and enjoys the occasional lesson. Jax has been diagnosed with heaves and is now semi retired, but we keep him comfortable with special herbal supplements and medicine. We’ve owned Jax for about a year now and look forward to many more with him!

Horse Spotlight!

Meet Levi! Levi is a 22 year old spotted mountain horse gelding. Levi is a gaited breed. Levi’s best friend in the pasture is my Arabian gelding Jax! He spends most days munching on grass, and teaching riding lessons to the kids. He LOVES to teach lessons. His favorite part is when he gets grain at the end. Levi has COPD which is a breathing disorder. It’s hard for him to breathe sometimes when it’s dusty, or there’s a lot of allergens, so he gets special herbal supplements that help him breathe better. Levi’s favorite thing other than teaching lessons is going on trail rides. He sure loves the scenery! Levi is owned by my dad and has been with us for two years now and loves life!
