Pets & Pals Pets & Pals is a nonprofit adoption center committed to the welfare, care, and humane treatment of animals. ❤️🐾
📍 Lathrop, CA This is not your typical shelter.

We sit on a few acres of landscaped, manicured land that houses state of the art dog kennels that are complete with heated floors. Dogs can choose to be on the inside or outside sections of their large, open kennels. There are four play yards that our guests enjoy on a daily basis (two of which even have pools!), and the dogs are treated with attention, chew toys, blankets, and treats. Their runs are always kept as clean as possible. Our feline residents enjoy a "kitten room" for the rambunctious babies, and large indoor/outdoor cat houses that have heating and air for our "older" kitties. We are open by appointment if you see something you like.

Spencer is a handsome Pug/Frenchie mix! Born in November 2025, Spencer is still very much a puppy at heart with plenty of playful energy to share. Sadly, his previous owner had to make the difficult choice to rehome him due to rising apartment pet rent fees, so he’s now searching for his true forever family. He’s already fully housetrained! Magpie is a beautiful girl who was born in June as part of an accidental litter. Her mom was a black Lab, and we are unsure of what dad was. She’s a very sweet girl who does well with other dogs and likes to splash in the pool. She’s already spayed, microchipped, and up to date on vaccines. Meet Dune!🤎

Dune is a resilient young pup with a heart full of love! His journey hasn’t been easy. He was abandoned in our parking lot in pretty rough shape. Though his microchip led us back to a previous owner who adopted him recently from another shelter, our repeated outreach went completely unanswered. Dune hasn’t let his past dim his bright, happy personality for a single second. Meet Rocky & Austin! 🎃🐾

Rocky, a Doberman/Shepherd mix, has been waiting 291 days, while Austin, a Rhodesian Ridgeback/Pittie mix, has been waiting an incredible 467 days! ❤️

Both boys are sweet, playful, and love running around the yard and splashing in the pool! They’re smart and still working on their training, but would thrive with a loving family. 🏡

Meet Scooby!🤎

Scooby has been at our shelter for over a year. He came to us in June of 2025. He was discovered abandoned at a fairground and was ready to go home with anyone who paid attention to him. He’s a very affectionate boy and a true gentlemen in the making, ready to “sit” when asked and gently take his treat. Scooby still has all the playful energy of a puppy and he’d love a family who can help him continue to grow into the magnificent dog he’s destined to be. Meet Emu!🖤

Did you know that black dogs are often overlooked in shelters and can spend significantly longer waiting for their forever homes?

For the month of October, we’re shining the spotlight on Emu! 👻🖤

Emu has been waiting patiently at our shelter since October 22, 2025 — nearly an entire year. Born on March 27, 2025, this handsome boy is still so young and has his whole life ahead of him.

Emu was abandoned by his previous owner, but despite everything he’s been through, he hasn’t let it dim his sweet, friendly spirit. He’s ready to leave shelter life behind and find the loving family he deserves. 🥹
