Pets & Pals Pets&Pals is a nonprofit adoption center dedicated to the welfare and humane treatment of animals This is not your typical shelter.

We sit on a few acres of landscaped, manicured land that houses state of the art dog kennels that are complete with heated floors. Dogs can choose to be on the inside or outside sections of their large, open kennels. There are four play yards that our guests enjoy on a daily basis (two of which even have pools!), and the dogs are treated with attention, chew toys, blankets, and treats. Their runs

are always kept as clean as possible. Our feline residents enjoy a "kitten room" for the rambunctious babies, and large indoor/outdoor cat houses that have heating and air for our "older" kitties. We are open by appointment if you see something you like.

Meet Kruger!🤎

Kruger was a stray found on the Kruger foods company property. When Kruger was found, his body told the story of a dog who had been on his own for far too long. He was thin and hungry, his coat was patchy, he had been eaten up by fleas, and several of his teeth were broken from scavenging just to survive. Despite everything he endured, Kruger never lost the quiet spark in his eyes..the one that said he still wanted to believe in people.

Kruger is a middle aged Australian Shepherd and Rottweiler mix (estimated at approximately 5 years old) with a gentle heart and a calm, soulful nature. Since coming into our care, he’s started to heal. His coat is now healthy, and he’s learning that a kind touch means safety, not pain. He enjoys walks, soft beds, and quiet moments with the people here. What he needs now is a loving home where he can feel safe and cherished for the rest of his life.

Meet Oliver!🩶

This sweet boy was found wandering around River Islands with no collar or microchip. He has a very interesting coat of fur. It is very fine, like baby hair, so we suspect he may be have Chinese Crested in his breed. He appears to be 8 years of age or more, so he would be perfect for someone who loves senior dogs who are very calm and laid back. We will likely have to get his teeth cleaned when he goes in to be neutered, so when he goes home, he will be as good as new. He only weighs 8 pounds, but is a little overweight, so that may go down a little bit with careful diet. He seems to enjoy being carried and would make a good snuggle bug. Meet Maple!🍁

Maple is a sweet girl who enjoys playing with other dogs and would likely do well in a home where someone can give her more to do and maybe a friend to play with. She is only 45 pounds, but can knock over little ones accidentally, so sturdy kids preferred! Maple rides well in the car and knows some basic obedience commands. She is about 3 years old and is potty trained as well. She is a mixed breed, guessing she is Boxer, Pit and Pointer, but just a guess. Her little stub tail is adorable!
