Yesterday, Loki was successfully launched into his new forever home.
I'm hoping for lots of pics and videos from his new family to share here, once he is settled in.
Even though I know this was what's best for him and my home, (with his un-neutered half sister and un-neutered mom ) was never going to meet his needs, I miss him already!
Irrational, but here we are.

I have the trainer's full report back on Mr. Loki. Please message me for that information. I haven't been able to figure out how to share it directly onto this page from the PDF file..

Mr Loki is doing sooo well in my home. He has not had a marking incident since returning to me. He is still wearing his male wrap for sanitary reasons, but so far, he has been 100% clean inside.
He is still barking in the crate, usually for about 5 minutes after he is put up, and sometimes if he hears people moving around outside his room.
We are working hard on his self control issues, and he is definitely making progress there as well. As per the trainer recommendations, he has to wait quietly before exiting the crate, going through any closed door, coming back in from outside and before eating. He's doing this automatically about 75% of the time now and getting more reliable every day.
If you have the wherewithal to give Mr Loki this level of consistent training for at least the next 6 months, please consider filling out an application for him.
He'll be available for meet and greets sometime in the next couple of weeks.

Mr Loki is coming home from the trainer this afternoon. Once I have the full report and recommendations, I will start seriously searching for his forever home.
I will be very picky about this placement, as the trainer has already indicated that a good fit is going to be key to success with Loki, and he deserves to have a family who will love him for his WHOLE life.
I'll be giving preference to applicants who are local to the Albany area first, as my trainer is a resource his new family can access if they are within an hour of Albany.
Later today ill be posting the trainer's report and recommendations for his perfect placement, so stay tuned!

Here are some pics and videos of Mr Loki. He'll be available next week for meet and greets with new prospective families.
So far, here's his likely perfect match.
His former household was a single gentleman in his late 20s, who had frequent family visitation.
Loki is comfortable around older adults and children over the age of 12.
Although he was socialized with young children before his original placement, he hasn't been interacting with very small children since then, so a home with older kids should be fine.
We think he'd do best in a household without cats. Although he'd been properly socialized with cats before his original placement, he wad a baby baby then and hasn't seen a cat since. He has a healthy prey drive so he would probably chase a cat if they ran from him.
Could this be managed? Probably, but a home with no cats would be an easier transition.
He is housebroken in the general sense, and crate trained.
When he is in a brand new environment he DOES mark, (urinate). After marking a couple of times, he seemed to settle and go back to being housebroken. Obviously this will have to be corrected over time, so be aware he's like an adolescent in this way and plan accordingly.
Sometimes he is barking in his crate. He DOES NOT have separation anxiety, as he does settle eventually and a dog with SepAnx will continue to escalate the anxious behaviors. I suspect his former home let him out of the crate if he barked and he has developed this behavior as a result of being rewarded for it.
My guess is that all he really needs is a home where he will get a lot more exercise than he has been getting,
consequently, I will only consider homes where he will have access to a fenced yard to run in.
Like all young Dobies. He needs exercise and structure, every day.
If Mr Loki seems like he would be a good fit for you family, please fill out an application. Once he has finished his board and train, he will become available to meet new prospective families.
I would like to place him as quickly as I can, to re-home him as few times as possible, but i am willing to wait as long as needed for the perfect fit.
Are YOU the perfect fit?

Due to no fault of his own, Mr.Blue, AKA "Beverwijck's You've Got Trouble" AKA "Loki"is coming back to me for re-homing.

As is my protocol in this situation, he's heading straight to a professional trainer for a week of decompression and a thorough temperament and training level assessment.
Once he's been checked out and tuned up, he will be available to meet prospective new families.
If your family is looking to add a Doberman, please consider filling out an application for Mr Loki.
He's AKC registered of course, about 2 and a half years old, intact, cropped, docked, microchipped fully vaxxed, healthy and beautiful.
I'll be posting a ton of pics and videos of Mr Loki as soon as they become available.
