08/14/2022

Fresh batch of freeze dried CC BIRD CHOP available today!! Limited quantities! This is the same delicious chop your bird may have enjoyed fresh…just freeze dried!.
You can rehydrate with water to your liking, or simply add it to your birds’ daily healthy pellet mix as is. It’s absolutely acceptable (and simple!) to feed this mix dry. Freeze-drying retains nearly 98% of all the original nutrients. Your birdie friends will enjoy crunching away on the yummy healthy veggies, greens and grains that are so good for them!

This is the CC BIRD CHOP recipe that’s good for your ECLECTUS friends especially💚 The only difference from our other chop recipe is it has a few extra ingredients like freeze dried cooked black beans, beets and extra greens for lots of good fiber (that Eclectus need in their daily diet!)
But it’s not just for Eclectus! All your birds can benefit from the healthy human-grade, organic ingredients.🥦🥝🥭🌶🫑🫐🥬

Try it both ways and see how your bird likes it best! 🦜
Freeze drying, unlike dehydration, maintains almost all the nutritional value of all the fresh Whole Foods used in CC Bird Chop.
Our chop is full of whole fresh veggies and grains as well as just enough delicious healthy fresh fruit to entice your bird to enjoy as part of their daily healthy diet.

Sharing a post by Skye Marsh from another parrot group. it includes important information on current research in avian nutritional needs!

“I just attended the WVC (World Veterinary Conference) & spent alot of time picking Dr. Echols( www.avianstudios.com ) brain about diet(and all things bird).
With all of the research they have been doing regarding our companion parrots, they are finding the number 1 killer of our beloved birds is atherosclerosis.
Our diets are way to high in fats and complex carbohydrates for our birds, and we are literally fattening up their organs.

He recommends no nuts at all!
For small birds 50% or less pellets, the other 50% fresh(chop) & grains.
For large birds 50-70% pellets & the rest fresh(about 25% greens/veggies, and 5% or less fruit.) They can also have the same grains the small birds can have, with the exception that wheatberries must be cooked.
Approved grains list:
Spelt
Quinoa
Barley
Wheat berries(cooked for lg birds)
Steel Cut Oats
Flax seed
H**p hearts
Chia seeds
Human grade millet

Chard, kale, bok choy, carrot greens, beet tops, etc(NO SPINACH!)

Fruits: berries, lychee, figs
On occasion: Papaya, mango, kiwi.
NO: banana, oranges, grapes

The pictures of what our birds hearts & vessels look like are shocking. And it's not reversible. We can, however, stop the damage & help the other organs to step up & help our babies have happy, HEALTHY long lives.
Hope you & all the babies are well!🧡❤💚”

The American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine (ACVIM) will hold its annual conference virtually June 9-12, 2021. Dr Echols will present on new imaging and teaching technologies he and his colleagues are developing. For more information about ACVIM and the conference, please go to http://www.a...
