A New Chapter — Handing Over the Reins 🐴❤️

After 14 years of rescuing, rehabilitating, and finding loving homes for horses in need, we have made the difficult decision to close our rescue.

Since 2012, we have had the privilege of saving 85 horses, with 63 of those finding new, loving homes. Every horse had a story, and every one of them touched our hearts.

None of this would have been possible without our incredible foster homes, volunteers, and the generous donations from our Sentinels and supporters. There are far too many of you to name, but please know how deeply grateful we are for every dollar donated, every bag of feed, every hour volunteered, and every horse you helped us save. ❤️

We are happy to say that we are “handing the reins” to For the Love of Horses, a very competent and successful horse rescue with a beautiful facility on Kyle Canyon Road. We are confident that they will continue the important work of giving horses a second chance.

If you would like to continue supporting horse rescue, please consider donating to For the Love of Horses or volunteering your time. They have many volunteer opportunities, and every bit of support helps provide the care these deserving horses need. Please visit their website for more information@ https://horserescuevegas.org

We leave this chapter with full hearts and enormous gratitude. Thank you for believing in us, supporting us, and helping us make a difference—one horse at a time. 🐴❤️

With heartfelt thanks,

A Final Farewell to Clover, Our Spicy Redhead ❤️

Wednesday, we said a heartbreaking but peaceful goodbye to our beautiful 30-year-old rescue, Clover.

Earlier this summer, a devastating injury left her unable to walk properly, and ultimately her “good foot” foundered from the added pressure. After 30 incredible years, her tired body was ready to rest, and letting her go was the ultimate act of love.

Clover was a true chestnut mare—beautiful, fiercely independent, stubborn, and full of attitude. She made us work for her trust, which made earning it all the more special. We’ll forever smile remembering the times we got lots of extra steps in, chasing her across the pasture just to get her blanket on. That was our Clover. ❤️

LEAN is incredibly grateful to all the volunteers who cared for her at the senior Sanctuary, and especially to her fosters, Terri and Murray Robinson, who gave her such a wonderful life and did everything possible to help her heal.

Run free, sweet Clover. No more blankets to run from, no more fences to hold you in. Your pasture is green, your spirit is wild, and you are forever free.

You were deeply loved, and LEAN will never be the same without our favorite redhead.
❤️🐴

Our precious Clover is still recovering and needs your help. She is the last of our seniors in sanctuary. She is healing well but it will be at least 4 more months of healing with 2 of those still in a cast. See her progress below. Much thanks to the team at Desert Pines Equine Medical and Surgical Center and foster mom Terri Robinson for all of your hard work and dedication to our girl!

Desert Pines Equine Medical and Surgical Center
Miss Clover's latest update:
Yesterday Clover had her cast removal and replacement, along with detailed wound care and effective antibiotics administered by Dr. Cooper. Cast removals are scheduled every three days, with the antibiotics scheduled around the clock as part of her comprehensive care. Despite a loss of appetite, Clover's determination stays strong and she is resting comfortably.
We're thankful to the Desert Pines Equine Medical and Surgical Center team for their superb service.
Every donation and prayer counts considerably in her road to recovery. 🧡🍀🧡

❗️WARNING! GRAPHIC PHOTOS!

Happy Mother's Day to our wonderful friends! Herd update: Yesterday, Clover, our spirited equine friend, suffered a severe leg injury, typical of the unpredictable nature of horses. Her foster Mom sprang into action, getting her to Desert Pines Equine Clinic promptly. The medical team did a fantastic job, diagnosing a lacerated hind fetlock and a severed extensor tendon. 😰
Given the joint's involvement, a cast was deemed the best course of treatment, requiring frequent changes. Clover will remain under the clinic's care for the next week or two. We're heartened by her stable condition and the fact that she's already getting back to her old self.
Let's keep Clover in our thoughts and prayers for a speedy recovery, and if possible, consider donating towards her substantial medical expenses. 🧡🍀
