Birthday wish: One healing leg, one happy dog, and many more birthdays ahead. 🎂🐾

This is Diego.

If you've been around our hospital lately, you've probably seen him. Following a traumatic attack that left both Diego and his owner seriously injured, he's been visiting us almost daily as our team works to save his leg.

Today, though, isn't about bandages, treatments, or appointments.

It's Diego's birthday. 💙🫶

We're incredibly proud of the progress he's made and thankful to everyone who has helped along the way — especially our friends at the Nevada SPCA Life-Saving Shelter , who matched our contributions to support his care.

His journey isn't over yet, but seeing him celebrate another birthday surrounded by people who care about him feels pretty special.

We always love seeing our friends from the Caesars Entertainment K9 Unit and their dedicated handlers. These hardworking dogs play an important role in protecting our community, and it’s a privilege to be part of their healthcare team.

Whether it’s emergency care or specialty care, we’re proud to be here whenever it’s needed.

Building treatment plans... and team pyramids. 🐾

Behind every chemotherapy treatment, recheck appointment, and progress update is a team dedicated to helping pets and their families navigate cancer care.

This crew is proud to be part of the only board-certified veterinary oncology service in Las Vegas, bringing advanced cancer care to pets across our community while never losing sight of the human (and furry) side of medicine. 💚

And occasionally, that means turning team photo day into a pyramid competition.

Bruno’s family noticed something was wrong when he began struggling to urinate — and imaging confirmed obstructive bladder stones. After being seen by our friends at Cadence Animal Hospital , he transferred to our ER where he was urgently taken to surgery with support from our board-certified surgical team, residents, and incredible nurses. 🩺

Now? Bruno is back home being adorable, cozy, and ready for summer 😎💙

Huge thank you to his mom, Lizzie, for sharing these sweet recovery photos with us. We’re so glad he’s feeling better. 🥹

Even in all the chemo gear, there’s always plenty of room for love and snuggles 💚🩺

Our oncology team works hard to keep patients safe, comfortable, and feeling cared for every step of the way — even when treatment days look a little extra “science lab.” 🥽✨

It’s an honor to help care for pets across the Las Vegas valley with the support of our board-certified oncology doctors, and we’re excited to share that another oncologist will be joining us in just a few short weeks 🐾

Road trip for ophthalmology 💙🐴

Dr. Weinstein, Jill, and Chris headed to Desert Pines Equine Medical and Surgical Center to see Daisy, who traveled from Best Friends Animal Society for advanced eye care.

Daisy underwent a corneal crosslinking procedure to help strengthen healing in her eye — and she was the sweetest patient every step of the way.

Already healing. Already stealing hearts. 🌼
