✨ Welcoming our 2026–2027 Veterinary Interns ✨

We are excited to welcome an incredible new group of veterinarians to our team for the 2026–2027 internship year!

Meet Dr. Amelia Ham!
A Georgia native and graduate of the University of Georgia College of Veterinary Medicine, Dr. Ham grew up competing in western pleasure, halter, and barrel racing and spent many years working with trail and Saddlebred horses. Her interests include general practice, rural medicine, sports and show medicine, and reproduction. Outside of the clinic, she enjoys hiking, paddle boarding, reading, spending time with her dog, Boomer, and exploring her new home in Nevada. We’re excited to see her get back in the saddle, too!

Meet Dr. Jazmin Frias!
Originally from Mexico City, Dr. Frias discovered her passion for equine medicine after learning to ride during veterinary school at the National Autonomous University of Mexico. Her experiences have included equine neonatology, clinical pathology, Thoroughbred breeding, and equine reproduction, including an internship with the Equine Theriogenology Service at the University of Illinois. She loves learning, cooking and baking, swimming, hiking, social dancing, reading, and improving her riding skills.

Please join us in giving Dr. Amelia Ham and Dr. Frias a warm welcome! We’re looking forward to watching this talented group learn, grow, and make an impact throughout the coming year.

Here’s to a great 2026–2027 internship year!🐴 🩺

We are so excited to share that Dr. Celene Ivey and her husband have welcomed their first baby into the world!

We couldn’t be happier for them as they begin this incredibly special new chapter as parents. Please join us in giving them this time to slow down, soak in those newborn cuddles, and enjoy these precious first moments together. We’ll be so excited to welcome Dr. Ivey back after her maternity leave, but for now, we hope she and her family enjoy every minute of this special time.

One of the best parts of being a team is getting to celebrate the big milestones in life together. We absolutely love watching our employees grow both professionally and personally, and we couldn’t be happier to celebrate this one with Dr. Ivey! Congratulations💕

It is a beautiful thing when passion and purpose join forces. Our hearts are heavy this week as we mourn the loss of a very special part of our DPE family, Dr. Darla Moser. Dr. Moser was not only a skilled equine veterinarian and surgeon, but she had the ability to touch the lives of all that had the pleasure to know her. She inspired and mentored many young aspiring veterinarians and veterinary technicians. She cared deeply and gave unselfishly Her beautiful daughter and husband were the center of her world. She fought a courageous three-year battle and continued to encourage and inspire others every step of the way.

Her legacy will live on with our DPE family and community. As we continue to heal, we will honor her in the greatest way we know how—we will keep working hard and helping horses. A Celebration of Life will be held on September 26th at 3pm at the South Point. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Gemma Kaye Carlson Educational Fund.
