Sometimes, as a behavior person, it’s our job to step in and help with medical, especially in cases where the dog seems too reactive or intense for handling. Luckily Miss Anna was only protective of her puppies, and once sent to the back/outside of the kennel, although she was still reactive, it appeared more defensive. I’ll get the video together of the entire process but here is a shot of us finally getting the rest of her vaccines and chip done.
With a gentle hold, and some soothing/encouraging words.
As unsure as she was, she ended up being one of my favorites to work with…

Visited Bridgeport Texas Animal Shelter on Monday, spent Tues-Thurs at ALL KIND Animal Initiative & stopping at Montague County Animal Rescue tomorrow before heading home.
THEN off the next 3 days, and focusing on getting some editing done!
More shelter 🐶 content to come!

I think the saddest part about animal welfare is the drama that comes along with it.
Sure there are organizations or groups that I may disagree with, but I’m too busy pouring into the ones I believe in, to waste time trying to disrupt or destroy the ones I don’t. 🤷🏻‍♂️
