The Fourth of July is right around the corner!

As you're making plans for cookouts and fireworks, don't forget to make a plan for your pets, too. Loud noises and bright flashes can be overwhelming, causing even the calmest pets to become anxious or try to run away.

Here are a few ways to help keep them safe this holiday:
❤️ Keep pets safely indoors before fireworks begin.
🎆 Provide a quiet room with familiar bedding, toys, or treats.
🏷️ Double check that collars, ID tags, and microchip information are current.
🚪 Be extra cautious when opening doors, as frightened pets may try to escape.
💊 If your pet experiences severe anxiety, talk with your veterinarian about treatment options before the holiday.

A little preparation can go a long way in helping your pet feel safe this Fourth of July weekend.

🌞 Summer in Las Vegas can be dangerous for our four-legged family members.

Pets can overheat much faster than people, and heatstroke is a life-threatening emergency. Puppies, senior pets, short-nosed breeds, and pets with certain medical conditions are especially at risk.

🐾 Always provide plenty of fresh water
🐾 Limit outdoor activities during peak heat
🐾 Never leave your pet in a parked vehicle
🐾 If your pet shows signs of overheating, begin cooling them with cool (not ice-cold) water and seek veterinary care right away.

A little extra caution can go a long way in keeping your pet safe this summer.❤️
