🫡🏽 π“π‡πˆπ’ πŽππ„ πˆπ’ π…πŽπ‘ π˜πŽπ” 🫡🏽

Many people ask…

β€œHow do I get my dog to be calm?”

My answer almost always πƒπˆπ’π€πππŽπˆππ“π’ them.

Because…

❌ It’s not a secret technique
❌ It’s not a fancy drill
❌ It’s definitely not exciting

It’s this…

βœ… Sitting with your dog
βœ… Waiting
βœ… Rewarding the choices you actually want and interrupting what you don’t want 🀯

The problem is, most owners 𝐄𝐗𝐏𝐄𝐂𝐓 calmness to πŒπ€π†πˆπ‚π€π‹π‹π˜ appear at a restaurant, brewery, patio, or family gathering…

Without ever π“π„π€π‚π‡πˆππ† this in a more π‚πŽππ“π‘πŽπ‹π‹π„πƒ environment, first.

Over time, this π’πŠπˆπ‹π‹ can transfer into the real world.

Which almost all dog owners want in 2026, right?

However, very 𝐅𝐄𝐖 people are willing to practice being calm/neutral.

Remember, training isn’t always flashy.

But ππ‘π€π‚π“πˆπ‚π€π‹ training is what changes lives.

πŸ† 𝐘𝐎 𝐌𝐎𝐌 - 𝐈 πŒπ€πƒπ„ πˆπ“ πŸ†

Who would’ve thought a country boy from good ol’ West Virginia, just trying to build a one-man dog training business, would one day be standing on the Las Vegas Strip accepting a national 𝐓𝐨𝐩 πŸ’πŸŽ π”π§ππžπ« πŸ’πŸŽ award.

When I started BarNone K9, the goal was never recognition. The goal was simple - become the best trainer I could be and help people build a better life with their dogs.

This recognition isn’t something I earned alone.

To every client who trusted me with their dog, every friend and family member who supported me, every hardheaded dog that forced me to become a better trainer, and everyone who has followed BarNone K9 over the years - thank you. You played a part in this.

I’m incredibly grateful to be recognized as one of the πŸπŸŽπŸπŸ” 𝐓𝐨𝐩 πŸ’πŸŽ π”π§ππžπ« πŸ’πŸŽ 𝐍𝐚𝐭𝐒𝐨𝐧𝐚π₯ 𝐈𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐬.

Here’s to continuing to raise the standard.

Hopefully πŒπŽπ’π“ of us can agree there are π“π–πŽ major problems in this scene:

➑️ The child’s behavior
➑️ The behavior being excused instead of addressed

Most people immediately recognize the behavior is wrong…

…but the bigger issue is what happens afterward.

Because when unwanted behaviors are constantly ignored, excused, laughed at, or normalized… it usually escalates.

Dog training is no different.

Most β€œproblem dogs” don’t become problem dogs overnight.

It usually starts with behaviors people:

➑️ Laugh at
➑️ Excuse
➑️ Ignore
➑️ Reinforce intentionally/unintentionally

β€œHe’s friendly.”
β€œHe’s just excited.”
β€œThat’s just his personality.”

Meanwhile the dog is constantly rehearsing behaviors that eventually become frustrating, dangerous, or completely unmanageable.

The earlier behavior is addressed, the easier it usually is to fix.

ππ€π‚πŠπ˜π€π‘πƒπ’ =❓❓❓

We all love love our dogs…but still misunderstand what they actually 𝐍𝐄𝐄𝐃…so badly.

A fence and a patch of grass do ππŽπ“ automatically create fulfillment.

Some dogs are living the exact same day over and over again:

➑️ Same yard
➑️ Same smells
➑️ Same routine
➑️ Same environment

Meanwhile, some of the most happy/fulfilled dogs I’ve ever worked with lived in apartments…because their owners are actually involved in their in life.

This is not anti-backyard.

A backyard can be a great π“πŽπŽπ‹.

But too often, it becomes a replacement for engagement, structure, training, exposure, and relationship.

Your dog does not just need space.

Your dog is π‚π‘π€π•πˆππ† time with π˜πŽπ”!
