Cooper was abandoned by his mom, having already lost his dad and his health. A kind neighbor stepped up and took care of him, feeding him and keeping him company, she knew she needed help and contacted SSRI. He came to us with his nails growing into his paw pads, hair loss, raw skin, matting, and blind. Shortly after arriving at his foster home, he was taken to the vet for initial treatment. Due to his pain, especially from his ears, he had to be sedated to be examined.

Cooper has numerous health problems that he needs our help with.

He has chronic allergies that have led to severe skin and ear infections. He’s had allergies all of his life, but without proper care they’ve gotten out of control. This has caused hair loss and raw, painful patches of skin. Some of the worst patches are around his eyes. The vet gave him steroids and antibiotics, and was able to shave off several of the worst mats.

Second, Cooper has glaucoma and retinal dysplasia. It has been left untreated, and has become a painful problem for him. He will need to have his eyes removed. This won’t be able to happen though, until his skin infection around his eyes has been healed.

Third, for our boy? His weight. Ever since he was a puppy he has struggled to be a healthy weight. Right now he is obese, and will need to go on a diet and exercise plan to help get him to be a healthy, happy weight.

We will need your help with Coopers vet bills. This poor boy, who is already feeling relief after his initial vet visit, will need more medications, vet visits, and surgery. SSRI and the vets believe that Cooper will be able to live a full and happy life if he can get the help he needs! Will you be a part of this boy's recovery? So another update 5 minutes later, they have decided once again not to rehome Bruce.

Update 6/9/2026 Bruce is indeed coming into rescue with SSRI. He is now 20 months old.

Update 1/05/2026 Owners have decided to keep Bruce and make their situation work for him. Thank you for all your interest in helping Bruce find a new home.

Gets along with other dogs, lives with a cat, likes people but is a little nervous on first meeting.
Bruce has a unique look, not only a full tail, but due to either being born with a short ear or an accident early in his life, he looks like he is always cocking his head in question 💕

***ANOTHER UPDATE ON COOPER***

Cooper is in need of a new foster home. His foster mom is going back to work in mid-July and can no longer foster him. We are looking for another foster who can take him into the next steps of his recovery. A retired person who lives in a single story home would be best fit. His foster mom says that he is a very sweet boy who is very loving and responsive to attention. The rescue will pay for all of his vet bills we just ask you to give him love and care (and transportation to his vet appointments).

Bowie is currently in Las Vegas, NV

Bowie is a beautiful 2-year-old Brittany Spaniel / Springer Spaniel mix weighing about 30 pounds. He’s dog friendly, people friendly, and a very good boy who deserves a second chance at a happy life.

Sadly, Bowie’s family dropped him off at a very high-kill shelter because they were moving and decided not to take him with them. Thankfully, we were able to rescue him — and we’re so glad we did.

You’re safe now, Bowie. You’re an SSRI pup now. ❤️

Bowie has some puppy energy and will need a patient, loving home willing to help guide him while he continues learning and adjusting. He is sweet, eager, and just needs someone willing to give him time, structure, and love.

LOCATED IN WASHINGTON - ADOPTION PENDING

Meet Dotty aka Dot aka Miss Dot. This sweet girl is a bit timid but my goodness is she a gentle sweetie pie. She looooves to come rest her whole body up against anyone willing and once you’re her friend she will boing boing bounce like Tigger with excitement anytime you walk through the door. She’s very gentle, but she can be a bit pushy when asking for attention and she’s been known to nose the garbage a time or two! Dotty is very responsive to correction and has great recall!

In true Springer fashion, she’s not real keen on being alone, but with the help of her foster sister, she does fine when her foster parents are gone.

Dotty likes to play with toys and will happily run around in the yard sniffing all the things!

She’s got a pretty strong prey drive so probably not a candidate to share her home with cats - but she’d be happy with other pups! Ideally, she’d love a family who will not leave her behind and take her on adventures! Dotty just turned 7 years old, weighs in at 39 lbs, and is looking for her new home. His "dad" had to go into an assisted living facility that does not allow dogs and his daughter is looking to rehome him to a special home. He is up to date on his vaccinations and is neutered.
