Greyhound Pet Adoption - Las Vegas

Some sad news to pass along.
Long time volunteer for Greyhound Pet Adoption Las Vegas, Elaine Jones passed away on March 30, 2026. Elaine was 86 years old and lived the last almost 20 years volunteering for greyhounds in Las Vegas. Elaine began her post retirement "job" with us in 2007. She immediately began fostering and soon became a board member.
Elaine performed countless home visits of potential adopters (usually with her big boy, Hulk) and assisted with many of our meet & greets. She was always a very happy volunteer working at any of our events such as our annual picnic or at Wags, Whiskers and Wine. She and her husband Dale welcomed in our new retirees in their backyard to be assessed, bathed and photographed. Many adopters met their new household members there as well.

This beautiful pup has made her way to Las Vegas from New Mexico to join her forever family including her greyhound brother.

Hi all,
It's been quiet for a while but we have learned of some puppies available. The pups are 7 1/2 week of Greylukis, greyhound and flat coat saluki mixes. To adopt you must have greyhound/ saluki experience.

Here is the info: The dam Jazzy (1/2 gh 1/2 saluki) and sire Mojo (5/8 gh 3/8 saluki) both came from a jackrabbit hunting dog breeder out of Roswell NM named Milt Garrett. I had met both the dam and sire before as the owner had surrendered two other retired hunting hounds to GALT NM. Their living conditions are well maintained and the owner is kind to his hounds, they just aren't indoor pets. The owner is a falconer (not a coyote hunter). Both parents are/were super sweet and relaxed dogs.
The pups were born June 13, 2025. The owner believed that Jazzy was no longer fertile and hadn't come into season in over two years - so this was a surprise oops litter to him. Sadly, Jazzy passed away five weeks after the pups were born. The Vet found that Jazzy wasn't processing protein and couldn't maintain any weight and also had a fluid buildup in her abdomen. The pups all seem healthy with no immediate signs that being weaned early was problematic. The pups are all free to a good home and we are so fortunate that the owner asked GALT NM prior to posting publically or calling coyote hunters.
GALT NM currently has no foster homes able to take in a puppy so we aren't taking possession, but rather they will remain at the owner's home kennel until we can find them all placement - so you would be getting the pup(s) directly from the owner, not a transfer from GALT NM. I am happy to facilitate any surrender or release form you might need from the owner.
The owner administered their first round of shots, DHHPP on Sunday, August 4th.
Their are four girls (three fawns and one black).
I can also share the owner's contact info if you prefer to talk to him directly.

Attn: Southern Nevada sighthound friends!!!! Help is needed. These two Afghan Hounds have been abandoned and in need of rescue. They are very shy and primarily afraid of men. There is a foster home available but not until June 3. Please let me know if you can house these two girls for the next few nights. Very little is known about them right now. Please share to get the word out.

this dog sound familiar to anyone?

Adopted!

We have an available greyhound! Meet Dexter, Dex for short. Dex is a beautiful red fawn and is 6 years old. He is not a furniture dog, preferring a fluffy bed of his own. He is not a fan of small dogs and he will need to be an only dog. He is trained to sleep in a crate and his house manners are perfect.
