Last Thursday I had to get a dental under anesthesia. One of my canines, the scary pointy ones, had some recession and an infection had started.
What Mom didn't know was the infection was way up and into my sinus and spread to the jaw behind all my pearly whites. From the front my toofers were beautiful. X-rays showed the ugly truth. When the canine, remember the scary pointy one, was pulled there was a small explosion of nastiness! I ended up losing all but 3 teeth. Mom saw the x-rays and couldn't believe the mess in my mouth. She cried all the way home while I slept in my car bed. Some pain meds and antibiotics and I will be good as new in 2 weeks. Bonus is I get to eat some very special soft food from Nature's Logic. It tastes really yummy and has no synthetic vitamins or minerals, whatever that means. But Mom said it's good for me.
So no more scary pointy canines and Mom is afraid my tongue is going to hang out. Nah, I'll just be prepared to kiss everyone!
