☀️ ⚠️ EXTREME HEAT WARNING FOR LAS VEGAS ⚠️ ☀️
The Las Vegas Valley is under an Extreme Heat Warning, with dangerously high temperatures expected through the weekend. These conditions can become life-threatening for both people and pets in just minutes. (National Weather Service)
🐾 Keep your pets safe:
💧 Provide unlimited access to fresh, cool water.
🏡 Keep pets indoors during the hottest part of the day (10 AM–6 PM).
🌅 Walk early in the morning or after sunset.
🔥 Test the pavement with the back of your hand for 5 seconds—if it’s too hot for you, it’s too hot for their paws.
🚗 Never leave a pet in a parked vehicle, even for “just a minute.” Temperatures inside can become deadly in minutes.
❄️ Watch for signs of heatstroke:
• Excessive panting
• Heavy drooling
• Weakness or stumbling
• Vomiting or diarrhea
• Bright red or pale gums
• Collapse
If you suspect your pet is overheating, move them to a cool area, offer small amounts of water, apply cool (not ice-cold) water to their paws, belly, and underarms, and seek veterinary care immediately.
❤️ A little extra caution can save a life. Stay cool, stay hydrated, and help keep our four-legged family members safe!
