At 13 years old, this sweet Golden Retriever should be spending his days enjoying soft beds, belly rubs and the comfort of a loving family.
Instead, when Truffles arrived at GRRSN, he was dirty, hurting and struggling. His nails were overgrown, his skin was covered in sores and every step was difficult due to arthritis and neurological issues affecting his legs.
Yet through it all, Truffles never stopped being kind.
After a much needed bath, veterinary care and a special treat, his gentle spirit began to shine through. Despite everything he's endured, all Truffles wants is a comfortable place to rest and people to love.
Because of his age and medical needs, Truffles is now a GRRSN Forever Foster. He will require ongoing veterinary care, medications, and support to keep him comfortable and happy throughout his golden years.
We can't change Truffles' past, but together, we can give him the future he deserves.

UPDATE: Marley’s test results came back positive for Valley Fever and she also has an antibiotic resistant bacterial infection that requires injectable medication. Thankfully, her IV has been removed and she is bright, alert, eating, drinking and in good spirits.

She still has draining tracts on her leg and stomach that require multiple cleanings and bandage changes daily, so she will remain hospitalized for some time. Because of these complications, her amputation surgery has been delayed and is now expected in about four weeks.

Marley will also need lifelong medication to help manage the Valley Fever. She still has a long road ahead, but she’s receiving the care she needs right now. Thank you so much to everyone who has donated toward her care, this will be another very large veterinary bill for the rescue.
