SUPERZOO is bringing the pet industry to Las Vegas next week, so we figured we’d share a little bit of our Vegas while everyone’s in town. 🐾🌴

Thousands of us are about to land in Las Vegas for SuperZoo. 🎰

Brands, buyers, distributors, retailers — the biggest names in pet care, all in one building on the Strip, August 12–14.

Here’s what’s easy to miss when you’re heads-down on the trade show floor:

Fifteen minutes from that convention center, this city’s shelters are running at capacity.

The Animal Foundation is the highest-volume single-site shelter in America — nearly 21,000 animals in a year. At Nevada SPCA, more than 65% of intakes come from owners who had to surrender. Not strays. Family pets whose families ran out of options.

So the need isn’t just adopters. It’s food. Blankets. Sheets. Towels. Fosters. Volunteers.

We built Dog & Whistle here in 2019. Vegas isn’t a trade show stop for us — it’s home. So before you fly out with a suitcase full of samples, take the detour.

🐾 We put together a full guide to every shelter and rescue in the valley — addresses, hours, and what each one actually needs right now. Link in bio.

And if you’re exhibiting: your leftover samples don’t have to fly home. Most local pantries will take unopened product. Call ahead.

Come for the show. Leave having done something for the city hosting it.
