Story time I think somewhere around 1:30 AM is when the Yelp from the crate in the room next-door alerted me to the fact that something was wrong. This usually meant help come quickly I must p**p. I hurl myself out of bed, potentially pulling something in the left side of my body and 15 steps later as I open the door to the office, I was assaulted with the pungent smell of an unfortunate accident. Luckily for me, my puppy likes to eat her p**p so it wasn’t as big a mess as it might’ve been. I wiped her feet and tummy and b***y and quickly ushered her outside in case there was more to come. Over the next several hours there certainly was more to come out of both ends and mostly in the house. Sometime around 3:34 AM as I was mopping the floor, I opened the door to the back deck just in time for a large, flying beetle to enter and be chased by my sweet sweet puppy. I grabbed for a small magazine and tried and tried to get it to go back out the door but instead it crawled behind a cabinet. I hoped never to be seen again. Most unfortunately when I stepped outside to put the bucket out, there was an even more giant beetle upside down and struggling just outside the door. Of course the puppy wanted to play with this new friend, so I took the closest thing that was out there a dog bowl and put it over the beetle, convincing myself if I couldn’t see it it probably wasn’t there anymore . The puppy seemed to finally be empty and we all had a nap for about an hour. At that point it was time to start the day. Just as I made a cup of coffee and was ready to get dressed, I noticed the puppy tracking something around the living room, which of course ended up being the flying beetle I hoped to never see again. While trying to discourage her I quickly grabbed a vase off the counter and popped it over the bug to trap it. I then ran to the garage to get a real magazine and corralled the puppy into the hallway. At this point, I did my superhero bug move that I learned many years ago in Hawaii slid the magazine under the vase, took the vase and the bug outside and threw it over my neighbors fence. At this point, it seemed prudent to take care of the other large bug that I knew had not disappeared from under the dog bowl and so I did just the same, throwing it over a different fence to a different Neighbor. I got dressed, loaded the girls in the car and headed up to a clients for a little pack walk. At this point, it was 7:15 AM. Halfway through our walk I realized that my shirt was on backwards and did a quick arms in flippy twist to correct that error. A few minutes later, I realized I didn’t have my phone which I clearly remembered looking at before starting the walk so as we turned around to go back, of course I was watching to see if I had dropped it somewhere. Luckily when we got back to the house, I realized it was still in the car so really in the end crisis averted. 🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️😂🤣😝 photos and videos in comments at your own risk.
