🚨 PSA FOR PET OWNERS 🚨
With weekly fireworks coming to the Las Vegas Strip and Downtown this summer, we want to remind everyone that this time of year can be incredibly stressful and dangerous for pets.
Even if you’re nowhere near the Strip, fireworks tend to trigger neighborhood copycats and “backyard shows,” which means frightened pets all across the valley. Every year shelters and rescues see a spike in lost dogs after fireworks.
A few important reminders:
🐾 Make sure your pets are wearing current ID tags
🐾 Double check that microchip information is updated
🐾 Keep pets indoors during fireworks whenever possible
🐾 Close windows, blinds, and curtains to help reduce noise and flashes
🐾 Consider calming music, white noise, or a safe quiet space
🐾 Never bring pets to fireworks events
🐾 Walk dogs early before the noise starts
Please remember: a scared dog can panic and escape even from secure yards, harnesses, or doors opened for just a second.
If your pet struggles with severe anxiety during fireworks, now is the time to talk with your veterinarian about options before the summer events ramp up.
Let’s help keep pets safe, calm, and at home where they belong this summer. ❤️🐶🐱
For the kickoff of the city’s ‘Pack for Vegas’ summer marketing campaign, the LVCVA announced that fireworks displays are planned every Saturday night in June and July.
