Today I achieved one of my highest goals I’ve set for myself professionally- compete(and finish) in a grooming competition!
I have been debating about going through with it for the past couple weeks because I am recovering from an injury to my right hand and I’m still learning how to create the same quality as I did before. I decided to participate purely to gain the experience and boy, did I learn a lot! Although it’s not perfect and we didn’t get a placement, WE. DID. IT!!
I am so proud of my perfect model, Rosie, she was so patient with everything I asked from her over the last 2 days.
I am so beyond proud of myself for achieving my goal, the experience I’ve gained and the work I completed today.
Thank you to Rosie’s mom, Krysta for letting me kidnap your dog. Thank you to my judge Alison Rogers for my critique. It was such an honor to meet you and have my work be judged by you.
Lastly, I’d also like to thank Arisathegroomer. It was such an awesome experience for me as a first time competitor to groom next to you. You probably don’t remember our minimal small talk before the competition started, but it made me feel so much more at ease and I can’t say how much that meant to me in the moment. Your work is so beautiful, it really is a piece of art.
You’ll definitely be seeing me in the ring again!
