This is your sign to PLAY WITH YOUR DOG.

They are bored and just want to do things with you, not just be given a toy or bone and told to go lie down quietly.

I know its hard to get dogs out in the harsh heat or rain of monsoon season, but your dog will thank you.

Recall is one of the most important skills you can teach your dog. The big thing is to practice recall with your dog in many different environments around different distractions to build reliability in your command.

Handstand training with Maverick the aussie.

We only get one training session a week during our Wednesday Walks, but after a month of consistency, Maverick has really good rear end awareness now and knows how to lift his back legs and back onto a slanted surface.

Next is teaching him how to do it on a flat surface like a wall. Stay tuned for progress.

Before the walk even starts, the training begins.

In this session, Kat the Dog Lady is showing a client and their dog Roscoe how to practice a simple but powerful recall tune up drill before heading out on a walk.

When dogs are surrounded by exciting sights, smells, and distractions at the park, staying connected to their owner can be challenging. Taking a few minutes to work on engagement and recall before the walk helps set the tone for success, builds focus, and reminds your dog that paying attention to you is rewarding.

A strong recall isn't just about coming when called—it's about creating a relationship where your dog chooses to stay connected, even when the environment is competing for their attention.

Consistency, patience, and making it fun are the keys to success! 🐶✨
