🐾 Sometimes “aggressive” just means they need a little more patience. 💕🐾

Before this sweet girl’s appointment, her mom let me know that she had a history of aggression during grooming and even arrived with a muzzle. So instead of jumping straight into the groom, I gave her time.

I let her smell the salon, check out her surroundings, get comfortable with me, and realize that she was safe before I ever started handling her.

Once it was time to groom, I stayed patient, moved at her pace, and paid close attention to her body language and any warning signs.

And guess what?! She did EXCEPTIONAL! 🥹👏🏼

Not ONE snap.
Not ONE growl.
Not ONE time showing her teeth.
Nothing.

She genuinely ended up being one of the BEST grooms, and by the time we were finished, I think it’s safe to say we were best friends. 😂💗 Just look at that happy face!

It really makes me wonder if sometimes a dog labeled “aggressive” simply hasn’t been handled in a way that makes that particular dog feel comfortable.

Every dog is different. Some need extra time. Some need space. Some need breaks. And some just need someone willing to listen to what their body language is saying instead of forcing them through the process.

Of course, safety will ALWAYS come first, and aggression should always be taken seriously. But patience, proper handling, building trust, and recognizing warning signs can make a HUGE difference. 🐾

Today this girl walked in with a muzzle… and walked out fresh, beautiful, smelling amazing, rocking her big pink bow, and with a new best friend. 🎀🖤

Starting the day the best way — a fresh Loaded Tea from Almost Heaven Nutrition🥤✨ with a handsome little sidekick, of course! 🐩🐾

One thing I love is that their shop is PET FRIENDLY, so your pup can tag along while you grab your drink! 🐶💕

Loaded teas can be a fun alternative to your usual morning pick-me-up. Depending on what’s added, they may contain caffeine for energy, B vitamins, and other vitamins or supplements. I always add the Immunity option to mine, too! 💪🏼🍊 Certain nutrients commonly used in immunity supplements, such as vitamin C and zinc are nutrients our bodies need for normal immune function.

Loaded tea + dogs = pretty good way to start a work day at Polished Pup! 🐾✂️💗

Sammy came in looking adorable and left looking absolutely irresistible! 🐾💙

Freshly bathed, perfectly fluffed, trimmed to perfection, and smelling AMAZING. 🛁✨ Those big brown eyes, that sweet little teddy bear face, and those tiny fluffy feet are enough to melt anyone’s heart. 🥹

We finished his spa day with the cutest blue bandana, and I’d say he knows just how handsome he is! 😍

This sweet doodle came in for a full spa day and left looking like a brand new pup! 🛁✂️ We gave this beautiful girl a luxurious bath, blowout, full groom, nail trim, ear cleaning, and the cutest finishing touch, a silky bow to match her fresh new look. 🤎

After his spa treatment, he made himself right at home and soaked up lots and lots of pets from me while waiting for his owner to come pick him up. 🥰 Because at Polished Pup, the pampering doesn’t stop when the grooming is done! 💕🐶

The progress! 😍😍😍
She came to me severely matted and I had no choice but to shave her completely down & with any dog I have to shave down, breaks my heart! 2nd picture her hair finally started growing back & 3rd picture was today! Such a beautiful dog and I can’t wait to see how beautiful she will be once she’s super fluffy again, only this time, with healthy skin and not matted! ❤️
