October is PIT BULL AWARENESS month and we are honoring all of our pittie babies both past and present 🥰🐶

~🐾October is Pit Bull Awareness Month🐾~

In 2007, National Pit Bull Awareness month was created to help raise awareness on the truth about Pit Bulls. For nearly 100 years, these four-legged (and sometimes three legged 😉) friends were considered “Nanny Dogs,” because they were so loyal, docile, and loving that parents would often leave their babies or toddlers with their pit bulls while they ran to the store. Pit Bulls were once a proud American icon. They are war heroes, movie stars, police dogs, therapy and service dogs.

They are amazingly loyal companions. But, over time, the actions of a few that have taken the qualities – like loyalty, strength, and an eagerness to please their family – that make these dogs such amazing companions and used them in a negative way has caused the entire breed to be criticized.
Over the decades, pitties have unfortunately garnered a reputation as being ferocious, malicious, and dangerous beasts. An image far from the truth and based on the actions of maligned humans, not the animals themselves.
