Apparently they identify as dogs.

The horses get exposed to a lot on this ranch. Absolutely incredible this herd of elk came so close.

I may not have human children, so gosh darn it my dog will learn how ride!

This cute boy has been learning how to become a trail horse. He has been out of the arena and on the trails 3 times at this point and is doing great. He makes the views even more spectacular!

Lozi has been an absolute rockstar. After working in the round pen and arena the first several days after she came in, we progressed to working the trails on the property we run out of. We have 333 acres and miles of trails which have been great to expose Lozi to a variety of wildlife and trail obstacles.
Lozi’s owner will be trailering her off of her property to ride in the mountains and various parks, so after working through some issues at home (both with other horses and solo- she can get worried when she is by herself) it was time to trailer her off property and go solo at a new place.
Lozi did great! I am so so proud of the confidence she has gained. We passed many bikers, hikers, and dogs and she handled it all like a champ. Lozi will be going home next week and she will be very missed…she has become quite a farm favorite!

This is what I like to see, and what tells me a horse is really settling down…amidst an extremely windy day, Lozi is standing here before we do a training session, hind leg cocked and quiet eyes. She was never super jumpy or quirky on the ties, but has never looked very relaxed either. Today she is showing that the training we’re doing is paying off. 👌🏻
