Don’t Forget Me Shelter Cats

Even though you may think your cat wants to go outside.... please don't give in... keep your kitty safe by them staying inside.

Black kitties are often so difficult to adopt.... other than the color of their coat, they share the same love and devotion to their humans as any other kitty. Every home should have a black cat!

Regretfully the black cat has been given a bit of a rotten deal. Too many think they aren’t as flashy as other colored cats. Too many superstitions still exist and far too much misinformation about these cats is out there just because they happen to be black. But black cats are no different from any other cat—they just happen to have black fur! Cat Kids Rescue wants to debunk any misconceptions. If you’ve been thinking about adopting a kitten or adult cat, consider adopting a black one. Ensuring that a black kitty has a safe home would be one of the best ways to celebrate Black Cat Awareness Month!

This is so true for many of the cats and even some kittens with tipped ears who come to Pinellas County Animal Services. 🐾

The majority of the kittens and cats available for adoption from Cat Kids Rescue were transferred to the rescue from Pinellas County Animal Services to prevent overcrowding within the shelter environment. Please stop by PetSmart in Tyrone Square Mall to find a new 4 paw kitty family member for your home. Not only will you be helping Cat Kids Rescue but Pinellas County Animal Services save lives.

Oh, the power of AI!! Here is Felix (left) and Onyx (right). Currently available for adoption they are in bubble 2 at Pinellas County Animal Services. Both boys are very handsome, have medium-length coats and are 5 years old. Possibly siblings??? They came to the shelter because their previous family could no longer care for them. Felix is shy but welcomes gentle petting when approached slowly. Onyx is currently fearful and is not comfortable with human touch. Still trying to adjust to his new surroundings, he is more comfortable hiding than being exposed to new experiences and people.

As they become acclimated to the shelter environment this will slowly change. But the best place for these boys is in a home… preferably together. This photo, through the power of AI, hopefully helps people see their potential—two beautiful cats who deserve the opportunity to become confident, cherished members of a family.

Please LIKE, COMMENT, and SHARE this post to help Felix and Onyx find the loving home they deserve. Your share could help one of them find their forever family!

Felix and Onyx have been neutered, up-to-date on vaccinations and microchipped. Come meet these boys at Pinellas County Animal Services, 12450 Ulmerton Road, Largo FL. 727-582-2600.

Cubbie was first surrendered to Pinellas County Animal Services. When Cat Trap Fever saw him at the shelter, they knew this sweet senior still had years of love to give to someone who appreciates older cats. After he received needed medical care, Cat Trap Fever contacted Cat Kids Rescue to help place Cubbie in an adoption center where he could find his forever home.

If you love senior cats and would like to welcome one into your home, please contact Cat Kids Rescue at 727-748-6047 and ask for Phyllis. The rescue believes the purrfect person is out there to open their home and heart to Cubbie and give him the best life possible in his golden years.
