🐾 A Change in Behavior Can Be a Clue

Is your normally social dog suddenly hiding? Is your cat spending more time alone? Has your pet become unusually restless, vocal, irritable, or withdrawn?

Behavior changes can have many causes, and sometimes they can be associated with an underlying medical issue.

That's why it's worth paying attention when your pet's normal routine changes.

👀 Keep an eye out for changes in:
• Eating or drinking
• Sleeping
• Activity level
• Bathroom habits
• Grooming
• Interaction with people or other pets

You know your pet better than anyone. If something seems "off," it's worth mentioning to your veterinary team.

❤️ Sometimes the smallest change is an important clue.

🐾 Does Your Pet Get Anxious at the Veterinary Hospital? 🐾

We know that a trip to the veterinarian can be stressful for some pets. The good news is, there are simple things you can do at home to help make their visit a little more comfortable. ❤️

🌿 Consider trying a pheromone spray!

Pheromones are natural, species-specific chemical signals that animals use to communicate with one another. Products that mimic these naturally occurring pheromones are available as sprays and diffusers and may help create a more calming environment for some pets.

🐶🐱 A helpful tip: If you're using a pheromone spray for an upcoming veterinary visit, consider applying it to your pet's bedding, carrier, or blanket about 1–2 hours before leaving home.

A little preparation before you leave can help set the stage for a more relaxed experience—for both you and your pet! 🥰

Have you tried pheromones for your pet? Tell us about your experience in the comments! 👇

🐾 Happy Walk Your Dog Week! 🐾

There’s no better time to celebrate one of the simplest ways to keep our four-legged friends happy and healthy: going for a walk! 🐕💚

Regular walks can help your dog:
🐾 Maintain a healthy weight
🐾 Support strong muscles and joints
🐾 Reduce boredom and unwanted behaviors
🐾 Enjoy mental stimulation through all those exciting sights and smells
🐾 Strengthen the bond between you and your best friend

And remember—walks don’t have to be long or strenuous to be beneficial. Choose a pace and distance that are appropriate for your dog’s age, breed, fitness level, and health.

So grab the leash, lace up your shoes, and make some memories together! 🌳☀️

How many walks does your dog get each day? Tell us in the comments! 🐶👇

🦟❤️ Heartworm disease is serious — but it’s preventable! 🐶🐱

Mosquitoes are more than just a nuisance here in Florida — they can transmit heartworms to both dogs and cats year-round. Once infected, heartworms can cause severe damage to the heart, lungs, and blood vessels. 🩺

Signs of heartworm disease may include:
⚠️ Coughing
⚠️ Fatigue or decreased energy
⚠️ Difficulty breathing
⚠️ Weight loss
⚠️ Reduced appetite

The good news? Monthly prevention is safe, effective, and much easier than treating heartworm disease after infection occurs. ✅

Protect your pets year-round with regular heartworm testing and prevention. If your pet needs a refill or heartworm test, give us a call today! 🐾💙

✂️🐾 Regular grooming is an important part of keeping your pet healthy and happy! 🐶🐱

Grooming is more than just keeping your pet looking adorable — it can also help prevent skin issues, matting, ear infections, and overgrown nails. 💙

Benefits of regular grooming:
✨ Healthier skin & coat
✨ Less shedding and matting
✨ Cleaner ears & trimmed nails
✨ Early detection of lumps, bumps, or skin concerns
✨ A fresher, happier pet! 🛁

Whether your pet needs a full spa day or just a little tidy-up, routine grooming helps them feel their best year-round. 🐾

Don’t forget to brush your pets regularly at home between grooming appointments to help keep their coats healthy and comfortable! ❤️

⚠️🐾 Many everyday household items can be toxic to pets! 🐶🐱

Curious pets love to explore, but some foods, plants, and medications that are safe for humans can be dangerous — even life-threatening — for our furry friends.

Common pet toxins include:
🚫 Chocolate
🚫 Grapes & raisins
🚫 Xylitol (found in sugar-free gum/candy)
🚫 Human medications
🚫 Lilies (especially toxic to cats)
🚫 Certain flea/tick products not labeled for your pet species

Signs of toxicity may include:
⚠️ Vomiting or diarrhea
⚠️ Drooling
⚠️ Tremors or seizures
⚠️ Difficulty breathing
⚠️ Lethargy or weakness

If you think your pet may have ingested something toxic, contact your veterinarian or an emergency pet poison hotline immediately. Quick action can save lives! ❤️

Keeping harmful items safely out of reach is one of the best ways to protect your pets at home. 🐾
