There's a whole lot of love (and expertise!) behind every little life we care for ❤️🐾

This National Veterinary Technician Week, we're celebrating the incredible people who do so much of the work you don't always get to see!

Today, we caught a little glimpse of that work as a litter of kittens visited our veterinary team for their routine rechecks. From monitoring their growth and administering vaccines to making sure they're healthy and ready for adoption, these appointments are just one small part of what our vet techs do every day.

Beyond these routine visits, our veterinary technicians assist with surgeries, administer treatments, monitor recoveries, and provide comfort and care to animals who need a little extra attention.

Their work takes skill, patience, compassion, and a whole lot of heart. And while much of it happens behind the scenes, the difference they make can be seen in every animal who gets a chance at a healthier, happier future.

To our amazing vet tech team, thank you for everything you do! We're so grateful for the care and dedication you bring to SPCA Tampa Bay every single day. ❤️

Help us show them some love in the comments! 🐱💕

We're so grateful to our friends at Pets for Patriots for helping bring veterans and shelter pets together. Stories like this are why we love what we do! 🇺🇸❤️

Baby can be a little shy when you first meet her. But give her a little time, and you’ll get to see the sweetheart our volunteers are getting to know💛

This 2-year-old recently headed out for a Fido Fun Day with one of our volunteers, complete with a beach picnic and some time away from the shelter.

Her volunteer described Baby as an absolute angel. She walked beautifully on leash, was gentle and well-behaved, did great around other dogs and was incredibly sweet with the people she met 🥰

Sometimes a little time outside the shelter gives us the chance to see more of who a pet really is, and we loved getting to see this side of Baby.

Now she just needs someone willing to take the time to get to know her❤️

Come meet Baby at SPCA Tampa Bay or learn more at SPCATampaBay.org/adopt.
