🇺🇸 Memorial Day Training Tips 🇺🇸
Long weekends mean new environments, new distractions, and great opportunities to reinforce your dog’s skills. Here’s how to keep training sharp while keeping your pup safe:
Structured Outings - Before heading to the beach, BBQ, or family gathering, give your dog a short training session to get their brain engaged. A few reps of sit, down, and place go a long way.
Leash Manners - Holiday crowds can overwhelm dogs. Keep a calm, consistent pace and guide them through distractions instead of letting them pull toward the excitement.
Place Command - Perfect for BBQs and gatherings. Give your dog a defined job so they can relax instead of rehearsing begging, jumping, or pacing.
Impulse Control - Practice waiting at doors and holding commands around movement. These small reps build big reliability.
Firework Prep - Work on calm crate time, white noise, and rewarding neutrality. A prepared dog handles the evening much better.
Most importantly, we honor and remember the heroes who gave everything for our freedom.
Wishing you and your dogs a safe Memorial Day weekend❤️🤍💙🐾
