Laredo Animal Care Services Laredo Animal Care Services (LACS) is Laredo's only open-admission shelter, providing care for stray animals while promoting responsible pet ownership.

We offer adoptions, field services, cruelty investigations, foster and volunteer opportunities & more. Laredo Animal Care Services (LACS) is the City of Laredo’s municipal, open-admission shelter, serving all 106.8 square miles of our community. We provide temporary housing and veterinary care for stray, unwanted, or homeless animals in compliance with local, state, and federal laws. Our services

include animal sheltering, pet adoptions, lost and found, field services, cruelty investigations, pet licensing, volunteer and foster opportunities, and emergency disaster response. LACS is dedicated to promoting responsible pet ownership, protecting the public by preventing the spread of animal-borne diseases, and educating the community about available animal resources.

🌊🐾 RESCUED & SAFE! 🐕 Officers Rogerio and Villarreal safely pulled two dogs (a Boxer mix and a Terrier/Pit Bull mix) from a pond after a vigilant resident reported them trapped. Both are now dry, safe, and resting at the shelter!

As a giant THANK YOU for your hard work, we’re offering TRIPLE HOURS! 🐶🐱💙 *Must be 16 years or older (with parental consent) to volunteer. A brief mandatory orientation will begin at 12pm!
