Finding the Comfort Zone: Cane Corso Edition 🐾

Working with a giant breed comes with giant learning curves—especially when your student is a 18-month-old Cane Corso who spent his life as an outdoor dog and is learning about the world for the very first time!

Every pup has their quirks, and this big guy made his boundaries very clear:

* No looming allowed: Standing over him was a hard "no." To earn his trust, I had to drop down to his level (my knees are officially requesting a pay raise).

* Bilingual training: Turns out his primary language isn't English, so I had to learn Spanish on the fly!

Patience, treats, and a good crouch finally paid off—he trusted me enough to lie down! Slowly but surely, we're building confidence one step (and one squat) at a time.

Moral of the story: When training dogs, you have to be flexible... literally! 😂

Texas Pride K9 & Supply: Important Business Update

​To our valued Texas Pride K9 clients and family,
​I want to share a quick update regarding our upcoming schedule.

I will be undergoing surgery for Carpal Tunnel and Tennis Elbow, requiring me to step away for recovery from August 11 through August 26.

​Texas Pride K9 remains open and fully operational during this time!

​Scheduling & Appointments: My assistant, Jami Ramirez, will be taking over primary client trainings and managing the schedule

​Contacting Us: Please reach out directly to me or Jami for any booking needs, client inquiries, or routine assistance while I am recovering.

​Thank you all so much for your prayers and understanding, patience, and continued support while I focus on healing. I look forward to getting back to hands-on training with your dogs and designing their gear as soon as I’m fully recovered!

🇺🇸🎆 FIREWORKS FADE... BUT MISSING DOGS DON'T. 🎆🇺🇸

Hey y'all, if you've got dogs, now's the time to get prepared!

Every year, shelters see a huge increase in lost pets after fireworks. Those loud booms may be fun for us, but they can be downright terrifying for our four-legged family members.

🐾 Bring your dogs inside BEFORE the fireworks start.
🐾 Close windows, curtains, and blinds.
🐾 Turn on a TV, fan, or some calming music.
🐾 Double-check collars and ID tags.
🐾 Keep doors closed and gates latched.
🐾 LEASH every potty break—even in fenced yards.
🐾 Set up a quiet, cozy safe room.
🐾 Offer a stuffed Kong, chew toy, or puzzle toy.
🐾 Take a long walk earlier in the day to burn off energy.
🐾 Stay calm and reassure your pup—they need you.
🐾 Anxiety wraps or even a snug t-shirt worn backward can help some dogs feel more secure.

Pupdate:

Brownie found her fur ever home. She has a new furdad and big sister ❤️

Pack walk with some of my Pumpkins❤️

Luna the Golden Doodle needed a time out for bad behavior so she was in a muzzle with me. She's one of my newbies and this is her 1st social walk

Stella the littlest super mutt has never socialized and she's reactive so she's also wearing a muzzle. She did extremely well for being a reactive girl on her 1st social walk

Bingo the heeler mix is a 1.5 month new adoption and this is his 2nd social walk

Nove the Silver lab is on a unlimited plan and she went from super hyper to being able to calmly walk with a pack. 1st pack walk

Leeloo The gray Pittie is social but learning to be around other new dogs in the pack. She gets a little nervous but recovers extremely well. She graduated our program with flying colors but still comes to socialize whenever we have socials.

Last but not least, our newest member of the pack, Khissa the Belgian Malinois puppy. She learned how to walk properly in a pack today
