FROM GROCERY SACK TO FOREVER: Winnie's Journey! 🛍️✨🐾
Darling Winnie (short for Winston Ci******es) made her grand entrance to LAWS in a way we will never forget!
It all started when a kind local family spotted a tiny, sick kitten in their yard, far too young to be on her own. They gave her food and waited for mom to return, but mom never came. Determined to save her—and without a car—they did the most resourceful thing they could think of: they gently tucked baby Winston into a cloth grocery bag and biked her all the way to LAWS!
Imagine our surprise when that very special delivery arrived at our doors! Now, as a foster-based rescue, we aren't usually able to accept same-day surrenders since we have to secure a foster home first (so please don't start biking kittens over in grocery sacks!). But this family truly did their best to get her help, and as luck would have it, one of our experienced medical fosters stepped up to take her in immediately.
At first, tiny Winnie had a meow so raspy from her upper respiratory infection that she sounded like a tiny, 80-year-old chain-smoker. But fast forward through all the late nights, dedicated nursing care, and heaps of love: today, Winnie is a hyperactive, bursting-with-health, completely thriving kitten in her forever home!
Her daily hobbies now include parkouring at full speed off the living room furniture (and unsuspecting guests); tussling with her new besties—her family's patient dog and older cat; and generally living her absolute best life.
From a humble grocery sack to a lifetime of love, Winnie's story is a great example that when you adopt from LAWS, you aren't just bringing home a pet—you're adopting a tiny legend!
