A Big Congratulations to these two brothers for getting their first bucks during this PA archery season. Also, congratulations to dad for getting the kids out there and introducing them to hunting and helping them get it done. Some real proud dad moments right there that's for sure!

If you are successful enough to harvest a buck that you're going to mount please don't leave it at the butcher shop for weeks assuming the butcher is taking care of it for you. Please ask what conditions your deer will be kept in. I Also would ask how soon they are going to cape the deer. If it's gonna get caped in just a couple days, I recommend picking it up and bringing it to me rather than just let it sit on the floor at the butcher shop waiting on your meat to be done. The better condition your hide is in when you get it to me the better your mount will be. And remember if it's frozen when you pick it up, I have to let it thaw out for a few days after you drop it off to me so I can skin it. That adds to the time that your hide is not in refrigerated conditions.

Consistency consistency consistency!
My deer are all consistent. I'm sure to mount each deer with proper anatomy. I would be embarrassed if your deer wasn't right or it looked frumpy when you picked it up. I do not falter from deer to deer. I've been mounting whitetails for 25+ years and my work speaks for itself.

I'm usually not delighted to mount a buck in the full upright position. But this hard left turn really makes it stand out and makes it unique. Here is a back yard/ small woodlot buck from Montgomery County, PA. Full Upright, offset, left turn, ears back, with habitat.
