Things are heating up! Especially during heatwaves like this it is important that your pets have access to plenty of fresh water, ideally kept in an air conditioned space, but at least with access to shade. Exercise in the form of walks or playtime should be restricted to the coolest hours of the day. Excessive panting or trouble breathing, drooling, lethargy, extremes like seizures, bloody diarrhea, and vomit with a body temp over 104 degrees can be signs of heat stroke. Pets that are older, overweight, or have flat faces can be more susceptible to the heat. Keep a close on your fur friends and call us with any questions!
