🎃👻 Halloween might be fun for us, but for our pets? Not always! 🐾
Between the constantly ringing doorbell, unfamiliar visitors, spooky decorations, and changes in routine, Halloween can be overwhelming for dogs and cats.
And while some pets take all the excitement in stride, others would much rather skip the festivities altogether! 😹
💜 Here are a few ways to help your pets feel safe and comfortable:
🐾 Create a quiet retreat where they can relax away from the front door and all the excitement.
🐾 Consider pet-safe calming pheromone products to help support a more relaxing environment.
🐾 Don’t force interactions with trick-or-treaters or costumed visitors. Your pet doesn’t need to participate!
🐾 Offer familiar enrichment activities like food puzzles, lick mats, or favorite chews to help them settle.
🐾 Keep meals, walks, and other daily routines as predictable as possible.
And remember, it’s perfectly OK if your pet wants absolutely nothing to do with Halloween! 🎃
Watch for signs of stress, respect their boundaries, and let them enjoy the evening in whatever way makes them feel most comfortable.
💜 A happy Halloween doesn’t have to include your pet joining the festivities. Sometimes the best celebration is a peaceful evening on the couch!
