KOKO & HER SISTERS
Although small & sweet these girls had a very tumultuous relationship. Koko being a Resource Guarder, has caused a rift in the dynamics of their relationship. She guarded everything from her sisters. Food, toys and space which often caused her to attack. Koko was very fearful & anxious barking at strangers & strange dogs. The owners did their best by socializing with them as they grew to no avail with Koko. However, with a big dose of trigger & stress management and a medicinal intervention the girls are progressing nicely, being friends again. So, proud of their progress.

CLIENT COMMENTS:
Koko is a changed girl and we are so happy with all the results of everything. We still isolate her when food comes out but no injuries to her or from her to the other dogs. Can’t thank you enough. I can tell you that she isn’t snapping at the others for things that previously caused aggression. We still separate her for meals and playtime but just things like going to bed and lifting up another dog on to the bed to pet or cuddle would drive her to snap but now she’s accepting it. In fact the other dogs are still scared to come up onto the bed at night if she’s on it but we invite them up to the bed and she goes back to sleep and minding her own business. She’s 80% better. Thanks again!🥰

Puppy Mill Momma Gets a 2nd Chance: Miss Ruggles a 5yr old English Bulldog breeder dog who never lived in a home was adopted from Zoe's House Rescue to an amazing young family. She was fearful and unsure of her new environment in a house, on a leash and with a toddler. She would growl and snap at strangers and refused to walk far from the home. The family desperately wanted to give her a chance and remained dedicated to going slow and giving her time & space to acclimate. So proud of them for resolving behavior concerns through love, understanding & compassion.
Client Comments:
Hi Michelle! Thank you for the amazing consultation with Ruggles. She has been doing so well - having her own space and time (as well as starting medication) has done wonders for her. We went for a week long trip to our parents and she did excellently as well (with time and lots of treats) when my family came over this last weekend. Thank you so much for everything. Emily B.

AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION - Please cross post.
Meet Oakley!
A 2 year old, female, GSD/Lab Mix. Oakley is a silly, fun-loving girl who loves to be active and play. This super sweet pooch loves to cuddle just as much as she loves to play. Oakley is potty trained and loves attention. She can be a bit shy with strangers at first but warms up very quickly. She could use some basic skills and would thrive in a home that is relatively active. Oakley weighs about 60lbs, is spayed and UTD on her vaccines.

Currently, Oakley resides in a home with another female dog who has become protective over the male owner of the home who has been diagnosed with terminal cancer. The owners are eager to have the girls have a stress-free life as they navigate through this troubling time.

If you are interested in meeting or potentially adopting Oakley. Email me at [email protected].

Miss Daisy – I just want to feel safe!
Miss Daisy is a 6yo APBT Mix. She was taken from her home where abuse had taken place and had NO socialization. Daisy was fortunate enough to be adopted by an amazing lady who desired a companion. Little was known about Daisy, so her new owner was unsure how to handle her on her walks & in the home. Daisy was fearful of people & dogs. She was very reactive and apprehensive when meeting new people. After a few sessions Daisy began feeling safer and was able to remain calm in the presence of her triggers on walks. She was also able to warm up to many family members in her world. I’m so proud of the progress she is making and continues to make. I’m glad that her owner has committed to force free, pain free & stress-free training techniques. Daisy was super sweet and just wanted someone to advocate for her. Great work!

Client Comments:
Hi Michelle!
Things are going well! We keep practicing daily. The reactivity to dogs in the neighborhood is still a challenge but she deescalates a lot faster.
Two stand out moments are:
Was at mom's when my niece came over with her 2 1/2-year-old girl while we were making applesauce. We did a slow introduction where we sat for quite a while talking and she would investigate (I had the chicken! ) ...some barking in the beginning but after a while she was totally fine. Daisy was out in the kitchen with me laying on the floor (eventually sleeping) ...but Delilah would come in and out of the kitchen...bring her a toy...and she was totally fine and calm !!!!!!
The second was at Long's Park- we were there early and not many around. I wanted to take a pic of Daisy on the benches by the pond....next thing I know here comes a dog on the pathway around the pond. Had my chicken ready - Daisy spied the dog and watched and I did the chicken routine.....Daisy did not make a peep or any move to lunge! And that is a close distance to the bench.....I was so proud of her!!!!
I enjoyed finding a way to build a stronger bond with Daisy & gaining the tools to be able to handle a strong dog and building confidence in myself.
Michelle, you are a great trainer! I appreciate how you are able to provide instruction without making me feel like I am doing it all wrong :). I also am grateful for making me realize that all dogs may not be social butterflies and that is okay. I just need to provide Daisy with all the love and opportunities for her to grow and be happy in her own way (not mine!)
I am so thankful for all the tools you have taught me!
