This is a post we truly wish we didn’t have to make, but we are so thankful their owner reached out to us and is putting these two first. ❤️
Due to an upcoming major medical surgery and the changes that will come along with it, their owner has made the very difficult but responsible decision to begin looking for a new home for this special pair. She loves them dearly, and this decision is being made because she wants what is best for them long-term.
Both of these Aussies originally came from us, one is a Skye × Forrest puppy, and the other is a Nova × Hercules puppy. They have grown up together, are very close, and their owner would absolutely love to see them remain together if the right home can be found.
We’re grateful she trusted us enough to reach out, and our goal is to help find them a loving, committed home where they can continue to be cherished.
“ Bric and Raven
Bric is 5 years old, born June 18, 2021, is approximately 80 lbs of pure joy. Bric is Yiddish for “bridge” for he was a bridge to joy for me. Bric loves swimming in creeks, exploring woods and fields off-leash, looking for animals like chipmunks, groundhogs, deer but never hurting any animals. Bric is an explorer at heart. He loves cats but does not harm them, but may chase. Bric is very accommodating to his companion’s needs. He stays close to you and has good recall when in fields , forest, or in the yard. Bric is a loyal dog. Bric likes his food, treats and marrow bones. Bric does not like his head touched but will offer up his rear for butt scratches to show you he trusts you making the traditional Aussie body curve “C” while looking at you adoringly with his deep brown eyes. Bric has a thick, coarse coat that requires brushing. He comes with a Oneisall grooming machine which he is cooperative with but for the dryer. He will pace in front of the blower at home to dry his hair. An attached leash or two people would be able to dry him more successfully. Currently, Bric gets groomed and vaccinated et al at Applebrook Vet Center and Pet Resort. Quality pet medical care and day care is top quality. Bric is up to date on all vaccines et al. When at Lloyd dog park, Bric will explore but will also herd other dogs that are playing roughly. He watches out that playing dogs stay away from his companion’s legs. He is very loving and caring. I am looking for a loving and adventurous home for Bric as I am 72 and have decreased mobility. Bric is my soul dog and he will capture your heart too.
Raven turns 3 years old on October 15. She is a black Bi primarily black. She is small at 50 pounds and so cute with a little sass. Her coat is fine, straighter hair and rarely sheds. She is low maintenance in grooming. Raven loves to fly in the air catching frisbees and balls. She is quite athletic and would make a fantastic agility dog. However, Raven can overheat because of her black hair so she needs to be regulated and told to rest. She will seek out shade and lay down. Raven will calm and rest when her companion needs to rest or be low key. Raven also has a shy side to her. She had some rough experiences as a puppy with a neighbor’s dog that made her become shy with other dogs. She does love her brother. When at the dog park Raven will try to initiate play with dogs her size. She needs some guidance on how to engage and play but she is motivated to learn. She’s a very sweet, accommodating girl that likes to hike, play fetch with frisbee or ball, and snuggle at night. Raven can be left home when running errands without being in a crate. She has no destructive behaviors. Raven sometimes needs support as she can become afraid of the oddest things that are not immediately apparent. The discovery of a stink bug or something unknown in the backyard yard as she will self-isolate to the side of the room or yard away from her perceived concern. However, verbal reassurance and calm petting quickly comforts her. Our vet has owns Aussies and he adores Raven calling her his sweet girl. “
