Sadly this is very, very true. Paw Parent hasn’t gotten any dry dog food donations since December and we used to get whole pallets regularly every 3-4 months. Not anymore, now I have to buy it and as you know good quality dog food has gotten super expensive. If you want to help us with food for our dogs and cats you can go to our wishlist on Chewy. Thank you! 🙏

Animal welfare groups say overcrowding and rising costs are creating challenges for rescues and sanctuaries across Southern California.
Recent large-scale animal seizures in Los Angeles, Riverside, and San Diego counties have involved hundreds of dogs, cats and farm animals removed from facilities where officials reported neglect and unsanitary conditions. In one recent case, more than 400 cats and dozens of dogs were removed from a San Diego County sanctuary.
Advocates say increasing veterinary costs, reduced donations, and rising pet surrenders are putting added pressure on shelters and rescue organizations already struggling to care for large numbers of animals.
