So great to be back at New England Equine Rescue last week, getting to know two of their newest members, Cruz, a 15 yr old off the track thoroughbred gelding and Boo, a 13 yr OTB gelding. Both horses were the sweetest gentleman for their chiropractic therapy ❤️ They are currently under review as they settle in and will hopefully be ready to find their new homes very soon. Always a pleasure to work with the wonderful team at NEER! Thanks for all you do

Dr. Laura spent the past few days taking her dentistry skills to the next level at a 2 day, hands-on course offered to equine veterinarians through the AAEP in Ocala FL. The World Equestrian Center along with Peterson and Smith Equine Hospital were our hosts for this practical and informative event.
We covered many topics such as:
- Equilibration ( how to float horses in the best and safest ways)
- Advanced level diagnostics
- Managing Periodontal and sinus disease
- Diseases of the TMJ
In our great veterinary profession, you never stop learning!
As spring (finally) gets underway, Dr. Laura is eager to put her learned skills into practice, offering your horses focused care dedicated to keeping them healthier and more comfortable!

DONKEYS !!! - known for being cute, strong, stubborn and “hardy”. However, neglecting their dental health is a common mistake.
Donkeys may not always show discomfort the way horses do but they are equally at risk of suffering from dental disease.
Over time, they will develop hooks, ramps and sharp points just as horses do. They are also more prone to misalignment of the incisors ( over bites and under bites). We take extra care to only float overgrows of the enamel that are causing trauma, obstruction or discomfort in chewing or overall impeding the donkey’s ability to grind
Similar to our horse patients, we recommend an oral exam for all donkeys annually, even if they need minimal floating. In Donkeys 18 yrs old and older, more frequent exams may be necessary if dental disease is advancing.
