The 4th of July is a fun holiday for people, but fireworks can be stressful and frightening for many pets. Loud noises can trigger anxiety and increase the risk of pets running away or becoming lost, so it’s important to plan ahead.

Our Wellness Clinic offers calming medications and support to help ease firework-related anxiety. Appointments book out a few weeks in advance, so we encourage pet owners to schedule early to ensure their pets are prepared before the holiday.

The Rascal Unit will be here June 17. Sign-ups will open on June 1 (we will post an announcement then as well).

Please note, we will not be taking sign-ups until the 1st. You can come in that day to claim your spot!

Happy tails for our girl, Abby! She recently completed heartworm treatment and the results are in - she is heartworm free!

Now that she's cleared this hurdle, here comes the next: finding her forever home.

Abby is a 6 year old, medium-sized mixed breed weighing about 35 pounds. She came to us from another shelter and has spent the last few months winning hearts while patiently working through treatment.

She’s a laid-back, affectionate girl who loves being close to her people and absolutely melts for chin scratches. Abby does have a funny little ornery streak when it comes to squirrels and birds, so she’ll need a securely fenced yard or leash walks to keep her safe while she investigates the world around her.

Abby gets along well with other dogs and kids, but she will need a home without cats. She’s sweet, loyal, and so deserving of a fresh start after all she’s been through.

Help us celebrate Abby’s new beginning by giving this deserving girl the forever home she’s been waiting for!
