Meet Magic, a beautiful little gray-and-white kitten! 🩶🤍 Magic spent two days in our hospital receiving treatment for a snake bite on his left front paw. 🐾

Snake bites can be extremely dangerous for pets, but prompt veterinary treatment can make a lifesaving difference! We’re hoping this sweet little fighter feels better very soon. 💕🐱

🐍 Pet Safety Tip: If you suspect your pet has been bitten by a snake, seek emergency veterinary care immediately. The rattlesnake vaccine may help reduce the severity of symptoms from certain rattlesnake bites, but it does NOT prevent bites or replace emergency treatment. Every minute counts! ⏳

🐶 What’s that cough? Kennel cough? 🐾

Despite the name, dogs don’t have to stay at a kennel to be exposed. Respiratory illnesses can spread anywhere dogs are around other dogs — boarding facilities, daycare, grooming salons, dog parks, training classes, or even just nose-to-nose contact.

Keep an eye out for:
🐾 A dry, hacking or “honking” cough
🐾 Gagging or retching after coughing
🐾 Sneezing or nasal discharge
🐾 Decreased energy or appetite

If your dog develops a cough, keep them away from other dogs and give us a call. And please let us know they’re coughing before coming inside so we can take precautions to protect our other patients.
