When every horse is different, understanding what each individual athlete needs can make all the difference. 🐎

Miranda Kadel, owner of Rocking L Equine, has spent years working with performance horses through training, conditioning, competition, and day-to-day care. Her passion for understanding what helps each horse perform at its best led her to look for a more objective way to evaluate performance and recovery.

That search led Miranda to LARC TEST.

She wanted a science-based way to better understand a horse’s level of effort, conditioning, recovery, and performance, rather than relying on guesswork alone. 📊

As a LARC TEST Certified Technician, Miranda can bring post-run recovery data to her clients and fellow horse owners, giving them valuable insight they can use to better understand their horses and make more informed conditioning decisions.

Her goal is to help develop conditioning programs tailored to each individual athlete, bringing a more personalized, data-driven approach to performance and recovery through Rocking L Equine. 🤝✨

When you spend your life around performance horses, you learn that listening to them is just as important as training them. 🐎

RaeLynne is a lifelong horsewoman and competitive barrel racer who has spent years riding, training, raising, and competing on performance horses. Horses are a huge part of her life, and she is always looking for ways to help them feel and perform their best.

That commitment to understanding her horses is what led RaeLynne to become a LARC TEST Certified Technician.

“I wanted more than guesswork when something didn’t feel right. I wanted a better way to understand what our horses may be telling us through their performance, recovery, and overall response to exercise,” RaeLynne shared.

LARC TEST gives owners and riders valuable post-run recovery data that can be used alongside their veterinarian and performance team to make more informed decisions for their equine athletes. 📊

For RaeLynne, it all comes down to one simple belief:

“They give us their all! It’s our job to understand what they’re telling us!”

As a LARC TEST Certified Technician, RaeLynne is bringing another tool to her community to help riders better understand their horses, make more informed conditioning decisions, and support performance and recovery. 🤝✨

Caring for horses has always been at the heart of Kenley Ten Haken’s work. 🐎

Growing up with a deep love for horses, Kenley started barrel racing seven years ago and quickly discovered just how much care and maintenance goes into supporting an equine athlete. More than two years ago, she became certified in horse massage and bodywork, turning her passion for helping horses into a growing business built around one guiding motto: “Serving God by caring for His creations.”

Kenley has always believed that horses give so much to us, and the least we can do is help them feel their best.

“Our horses do a lot for us. The least we can do for them is keep them feeling their best,” she shared.

That same mindset led Kenley to become a LARC TEST Certified Technician.

“Along with keeping the horse feeling nice and loose, the LARC TEST will help me take the guesswork out of where a horse specifically needs help when a client comes to me saying they don’t know what is going on with their horse, or they have tried everything.”

By adding LARC TEST to her business, Kenley can give owners more information about their horse’s response to exercise and help support more informed decisions around care, conditioning, and performance. 📊

As a LARC TEST Certified Technician, Kenley is bringing another valuable tool to her community, combining hands-on bodywork with data to better support horses and the people who care for them. 🤝✨

A horse with a story worth telling. ❤️🐎

Congratulations to LARC TEST Certified Technician Lisa Lawrence and Redclay on being featured by The Western Thoroughbred!

From an injured OTTB to an Open 1D Champion, Redclay is a great reminder of what these athletes are capable of when given the right opportunity, training, and care.

We’re proud to have Lisa as part of the LARC TEST team and love seeing her continue to put her experience and passion for horses to work both in and out of the arena. 💚

Keep an eye on this team! 🔥

Feature:

Everyone meet Redclay, a twelve-year-old gelding bred by Hedberg Hall and Charles Center in Kentucky. He is by multiple graded stakes winner Any Given Saturday and out of Atlantic Hills, by Stormy Atlantic. His pedigree also includes Distorted Humor, A.P. Indy, Storm Cat and Coronado’s Quest. He made one start in a Maiden Special Weight at Ellis Park in Henderson, Kentucky. He bowed a tendon and finished tenth out of eleven horses.

John Wells purchased the injured gelding and rehabilitated him. John intended to use him as an outriding horse, but his daughter used him as a barrel horse instead! Four years ago, Redclay was purchased by Lisa Lawrence. Last year, Lisa and Redclay were the Open 1D Champions in their NBHA district. They recently tied for third in the 2D Open and won the Open 2D in the Top 10 Shootout at the Indiana IBRA State Show. Redclay is a big, tough and fast horse!

If you would like to see your Thoroughbred featured on our page, send us a message! Please include your horse’s Jockey Club registered name, quality photos, and information about their off-track career. Note that horses with a body condition score of 3 or less will not be posted.

Based in Western New York, Jodi is a performance-driven athlete, horsewoman, and Extension Specialist, as well as a competitive barrel racer and CrossFit athlete. Helping horses has always been Harlee Beasley’s purpose, even if the path looked a little different than she first imagined. 🐎

Growing up in West Virginia, Harlee developed a lifelong passion for horses and animals. As a barrel racer with dreams of competing at the NFR, she understands the dedication it takes to keep equine athletes performing at their best.

As a child, she dreamed of becoming a veterinarian, but life led her in a different direction. After working as a veterinary assistant, she realized her calling wasn't veterinary medicine itself, but finding other ways to support horses. That journey led her to become an Equine Flexion Therapist, a role she's been passionate about for nearly six years while continuing to expand her education.

“I want to help everyone around me be the best they can be,” Harlee shared. “The LARC TEST can help me not only support riders, but also pinpoint issues that we can't see.”

That desire to better serve both horses and riders is what inspired her to become a LARC TEST Certified Technician.

Using post-run recovery data, Harlee can help owners better understand how their horse is responding to exercise, giving them valuable insight to make more informed conditioning decisions and recognize potential concerns earlier. 📊

As a LARC TEST Certified Technician, Harlee is bringing another level of support to her community, combining hands-on experience with objective data to help horses perform, recover, and reach their full potential. 🤝✨
